    Somehow I think that might reveal a bit more than they intend.

    Ah, articles from the ABA Journal which frequently made me splutter and spit tacks were one of the big reasons I declined to renew my membership. That, and the Hertz logo on the membership card. The bar should be set just a teensy bit higher, imho.

    Really, I get the author's point, but this analogy seems strained at best.

I don't know, I'm not a lawyer, but I kind of resent a blanket statement about a group of professional women basically involving "Hey, act more like a beloved childhood heroine/Judy Garland portrayal and you'll be better at your job because your ovaries wont be bossing you around so much."

    At first I was going to say, "yes, but they made the Scarecrow the mayor!" but that actually seems to be randomlawyer's point: that women in the legal profession are not assertive enough with their accomplishments and/or demanding of recognition. Dunno what legal jezzies think about that.

    @Dodgergirl: when I got the email update from ABAJournal this morning with the caption "too many women lawyers like Oz's Dorothy" I didn't open it because that didn't sound nice....I assumed they were saying we all think we can just click our heels and get where we want to be. I mean, it says TOO MANY. I'm off to read that email now. BRB.
