wooo! Done! And I like Leahy's "Don't be repetitive assholes, guys" comment. But Sessions had to come back with "what's wrong with being repetitive and obnoxious?"
Jezzies: thank you for distracting and amusing me, most especially during the questions of Kyl and Graham, as you probably saved me some money by preventing extensive property damage in my house.
Oh thank God! They are breaking for the day! Tomorrow, they'll start back at 9:30, do a closed-door session with the nominee to go over her FBI report and stuff, then come back for a round of questions for 20 minutes each. I think the chances are that the panels of witnesses will go on Thursday.
The Republicans are going to use every single one of their 20 minute sessions tomorrow, like I figured.
@kithkin: Not the Senate building, "off the Senate floor," i.e., close to the Senate chambers in the Capitol building. And: no. They still have to walk further than the men.
Lindsey Graham, perhaps you should take this opportunity for self-reflection, perhaps asking a question instead of preaching your own philosophy, or about the bias that is revealed in the words you choose and the questions you ask. Subtext: Lindsey Graham asks, "Judge Sotomayor, people have claimed that you are in fact a bitch, are you, and if this is true is that something you should work on?"
@tonightineed is actually Mrs. Ziegler-Spock: Leahy said this morning "into the evening" but I can't deal that long! I assume if Durbin goes until almost 5:30, they won't get much further than Cornyn, allowing them to open/close with Dems tomorrow, but that's just me spitballling.
I am ignoring everything you just tried to say and make sense of in regard to my idiotic question to, instead, simply say with a hideous smirk that these hearings will bring to light what an awful, liberal, vile, cruel, baby-killing witch you are. Thanks for the chat!
@tonightineed is actually Mrs. Ziegler-Spock: Honestly, the amount of restraint she has shown in not standing up and screaming "YOU SIR ARE A STUPID CONDESCENDING ASS" and throwing things at him has been pretty damn impressive.
@Dodgergirl: Actually, that's quite common in these hearings, to allow witnesses or nominees to answer questions for the record when they don't have an answer at hand.
@Megan: No, I can understand that, but Graham's tone is so obnoxiously condescending, so full of "I'll ALLOW you to get the assignment in late for partial credit" that I want to poke him in the eye.

Have they put a women's bathroom in the Senate chamber yet? I admit my book of Barbara Ehrenreich essays is outdated.
