When you mentioned WWD I ... I immediately wondered why Wil Wheaton was writing about fashion. And then I realized that his website is WWdN. And then I realized that I'm a big nerd.
@Penny Plastic: @Annabellie: I thought it was missing a "B", and I was all, "WOW, how did I miss a "What Would Buffy Do?" website?
Seriously, Tatiana is a great writer, and of course I get the point of this post, but every time I read her stuff, I feel really, really dumb for not knowing more about fashion. Like who is Laura Stone? What's an Olivier Zahm? They only reason I know who Isaac Mizrahi is is because of Target. Sigh. But I'm learning, I guess!
@Penny Plastic: I googled Laura Stone and got: A. some chick in MN who makes mosaics, b. some chick who plays "Skye" on "Young & the Restless", C. some chick who's a folk rock singer, d. about 400 chicks with the same name who have MySpace pages.
@Penny Plastic: Now I remember her - she was the dame with the veins in her teeth (not literally) in that gorey Italian Vogue spread! She is very striking.
Also apparently it's not the googlin' but the readin' I can't do. Thanks :)
I think that it's beyond cute that you started unabashedly at Lara Stone, and that you pay for your own ridiculously overpriced crappy cocktails.
I don't work for an apparel retailer, but I do work for a retailer, and I can say that the outlook is not so good, and it's damn depressing. At least I found out that I survived the most recent layoffs. Round fucking 10 since I have been at the company.
@Penny Plastic: Me and you both. I work in publishing and there have been layoffs left and right here. I'm banking that because I come cheap, they aren't throwing me to the wolves. Yet. Crossing my fingers we all survive the coming rounds.
@Penny Plastic: I work for an apparel retailer, and there haven't been any obvious lay-offs yet. They keep stressing to us in conference calls how lucky we are that we work for a well-established company, but I sense that things will start to contract soon.

The end.

Because I am actually that high on cold medicine.
