If they are famous and interesting sure I would read their book. But Tori Spelling? What is interesting about her?
Alice Cooper's bio was pretty funny, Carrie Fisher is probably a riot but some barely famous or famous for what celeb? And they wonder why they don't sell?
@LilyBonesBurana: She was an alcoholic journalist for years who had her kid taken away from her eventually - so it's a double fail in the current economy - misery plus celebrity. (I have't read it, I've just learnt that by pop culture osmosis)
Y'all, I love these. The tackier, the better. I have a list of UK memoirs to purchase when I have extra cash (Kerry Katona? Jade Goody?! Jordan's next two biographies?! Victoria Beckham?! GIMME) - so far, I only have Jordan's first and Chantelle Houghton's. SToritelling will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.
@Plum-Pie: Unfortunately, no! So I've been researching different sellers, and most have said that if I order in bulk, it'll be cheaper. However, none of the stores have all of the books I want!
@hellodarling!: I've heard (from someone on here) that you can order books from UK Amazon and they will ship to the US, not sure what the shipping would be, but it may be worth a try.
I love celebrity memoirs, but only vintage ones. Do yourself a favor (alibris.com!) and find My Way of Life by Joan Crawford, in which she is photographed trailing many a mink coat over a curving staircase, and advocates a slimming diet of mustard on saltines. Also, in hers (which is really wonderfully written) Helen Hayes recounts how one man won her love by passing her a dish of peanuts at a Paris party in the 30s, whispering, "Would that they were emeralds."
@LAkebandit (tebow for heisman!): If I recall correctly, they became a couple and years later, he passed her a bowl of emeralds and said, "Would that they were peanuts."
@LilyBonesBurana: I have an autographed copy! I found it at a used book store and it was in mint condition. (Meaning somebody went to her book signing and never cracked open the book.)
I'm into celebrity audiobooks, especially if there's someone cool reading it. Bill Nighy reads Eric Clapton's autobiography and it was great on a long car trip. I also have By Myself by Lauren Bacall with Miss Bacall reading it, and that's a winner. And I have Nora Ephron's book about her neck, but she comes across as kind of a pill reading it aloud. Also cool to hear Obama reading his two books.
Oh, and speaking of crappy celebrity memoirs - do any UK Jezzies remember the Never Mind the Buzzcocks episode where Simon Amstell ripped into the "memoirs" of Big Brother Chantelle when her husband Preston was on as a guest, and he walked off the set? Awesome.
If I'm going to read about someone's "everyday" struggles, I'm more interested in people whose lives are more like mine. I'm a memoir junkie. One of my favorites is "Another Bullsh*t Night in Suck City" by Nick Flynn.
In a country where every premeirshsip footie player brings out autobiographies at the age of TWENTY with revised editions every other year/when a scandal happens, this was bound to happen. And, ha ha.
"And then in 2004 when I only made 14mil I only afford to buy enough Ferraris to fill half of the 6 car garage of my new mansion, life is just so hard"

US weekly is probably as interesting.

Can't blame the gal for capitalizing on her fame, but I can't think of a "celeb" whose story I'd care about less!
You are the lamest memoir...goodbye!

The only other one that comes close - and for very different reasons - is Timebends, but Arthur Miller.

Of course, books being books, the Next Big Thing will have been written at least a year ago.
I wonder what it is.
