It really annoys me when parents defend (fill in the blank) by saying, "Little Timmy doesn't mind so I don't see the problem!" Well Little Timmy probably doesn't mind alot of things like ice cream before bed or swimming in the pool un-supervised but that doesn't make him an expert on what is reasonable, safe, or healthy for him.
And as far as naked family time, if you grew up with free spirit hippie parents who were cool with that then I'm cool with that too but there are still certain things that aren't okay once a certain age is hit. For example, kids need to sleep in their own beds not only due to studies that have proven how important this is so they don't grow dependent on their parent's as a security blanket, etc but men get boners sleeping whether they are having sex dreams or not and Little 8-12yr old Annie doesn't need to be asking her dad if that's a banana in his boxers or if he's just happy she's waking him up in the middle of the night b/c she doesn't want to sleep by herself.

Breast-feeding mom: It would be equally weird if your kid were still sucking on a pacifier at 6 as well. Also, if your child is eating like a normal American boy his age, you are just pumping him full of extra calories. He has gotten all the antibodies he will get from you between 9 and 18 months. You need to find a new way to bond with your son. Play basketball with him. Or dress up. Or action figures.Draw together. These will benefit his social development.

I want to hear from the recipients and see if they advocate it as well.

ANYWAY_ I'm 24 now. I'm a pretty healthy normal adult. So is my sister (who was also breast fed until 2). one notable effect: we are both really tall. My sister is taller (she's six feet) than both our parents (who were both powder-formula fed).
Breastmilk = brainpower.

I was never breastfed and very independent and well spoken at 6. (I was in the second grade) I really do think that continuing to breastfeed after age two or so is very damaging to the child. Weaning happens for a reason!

And, no, he shouldn't be going to school with a pacifier.
I'm hoping he's potty trained.
And having him on national TV to gratify your need to justify your selfish need to have your son remain a toddler until he is nine is creepy.

I mean:
A. Doesn't that ravage her breasts? Ouch
B. I think breast milk is good for a childs development but this kid at 6 doesn't seem any smarter than the average 6 year old so there goes that
C. I thought breast milk was supposed to be for babies who cannot chew/digest foods with enough fat content as B. milk to start their development process. Seems that if you can hold a coherent conversation with an interviewer you need to get off the B and start on some "grown up" food.
I guess I was just scarred as a high school freshman when my journalism teacher made us watch a video of a woman breast feeding her 9 year old and I threw up a bit in my mouth.
7 years later and it still haunts me

"If they are old enough to ask for it then they are too old to have it" I really hate that statement.

As for breastfeeding until 6? Whatever. He's happy. She's happy. And I didn't see hubby hiding in the corner quietly fuming so it's all good.

Argh! Teh creeps, I haves 'em.
And that poor kid is liable to have some adjustment problems. He already comes across in that clip as a little different from other 6 year olds. And the teasing he's gonna get... poor guy.
