Her wins were amazing. The BBC commentators were great to listen to, they were so excited and surprised.

I have been really disapointed in some of the "presentors" and comedians here though, they have been vile about her looks. What the crap - so she doesn't look like a plastic barbie face. I'm sick of it.

Michael Phelps face isn't all that great if you are honest. But somehow guys who are successful are held up to a different standard of looks than successful women. It sucks.

@applejuice: I wanted to add that I meant while her looks are not cookie cutter conentional I think she is a very pretty girl! My point was that I think these entertainers are rude and ridiculous to make fun of a successful young woman's looks like that. It actually think it is partly because they are lazy and can't think of better things to poke fun at...

@applejuice: I saw her interviewed on a bbc programme and she was really sweet. Her mother also seemed to be wonderfully level-headed.

@applejuice: Oh I'm sad to hear that they've done that - who in particular? I'm just curious because one of the things about moving away from the UK is that sometimes you miss things like that. I thought Rebecca was being celebrated for her achievements.

@emilyanne: It's not everyone. I've just seen Jonathin Ross and a few different people on various panel shows make comments which made me angry.

Don't get me wrong, I think the media in general has been very excited and warm about her. But then you get these entertainers and comedians who make some nasty comment about her looks. I miht feel better of the audience went "ooooooo!" or something to seem surprised or upset but they always seem to get HUGE laughs when they go there.

Just disapointing really.
