    @greensno: Yeah I think the doctor should be male, his appearance changes as he regenerates but his basic biology is always the same, if they were to go female I think they would have to write it well to avoid it seeming annoying and tokenistic.

    other female scifi icons are (i think) few and far between, but epic win goes to Captain Janeway.

    Pfft, PETA coffins. If they really cared about animals, they would get carved up and fed to wild animals. Let's pour a little blood out for our animal homies thats resting in peace, or still kept down by the Man in zoos.


    I wonder if getting a coffin emblazoned with pork products would get me a sponsorship from the Meat Council, you know, to offset the cost of whiskey at my wake. "Oh, she did love her bacon. Pour me some more Jameson's, will ya? I'm grieving you know."

    Out of the all the things PETA does, I am glad that they are doing something so bland. Seeing as being fed to wild animals really isn't an option since usually the body wouldn't be fit for consumption.

    @Elaken: Heh, yes, I know, but the thought amused me all the same. It's been that kind of day. Although I do find theme coffins kind of weird, whether they be for Nascar, the Last Supper, or PETA.


    Biodegradable ones I get. Pictures on them, hmmm.

    $75 is really cheap for a coffin. Some of coffins can run into the thousands price tag wise.


    My grandpa insisted in his will that he not have a coffin (because they burned him anyway) and it was a huge family fight after he died. But no worries, we all started talking to each other ten years later.

    My grandma was buried proper (she was a devout Catholic). My grandpa was cremated and put in old fashion glass peanut butter jars. May they rest in peace.

    @TheGintheCity: Maybe in some cases, but when i was that age and had a party crashed, my quite literally destroyed house didn't make me feel too cool. I'm talking doors ripped off hinges, the 8 foot high wooden fence knocked down (people were running through it for fun), fridge contents emptied and thrown about, furniture and garden destroyed, people losing their virginity in my bed. Vomit all through the bathroom and on the patio.
