Here's a bit of complete and utter speculation on my part: Elizabeth Edwards is going to die in the next few years, almost certainly. If she leaves John the Tool, she'll be fighting a terminal illness and going through a divorce. Maybe she doesn't want to do that to her kids at this point.

Not that she has to answer to anyone, really. She can do whatever she wants, I just wish she would leave that tool and set his car on fire. Or better yet, his hair. All that hair product and it'd go up fast.

Judging from observation only, Elizabeth is a private person, and any mention she may make of the affair may only speak of her feelings, not the events themselves. What's upsetting is that people are baying for any information on this. The story is convoluted and, yes, John Edwards is a prominent political figure, but if their family chooses to deal with their private pain privately, then let them. Elizabeth Edwards shouldn't feel the need to expose her innermost thoughts to satisfy the clamoring masses.

Also Rielle, it's most likely that whatever mention Elizabeth makes of you is likely to be in name, or in the feelings you stir in her, not a damning of your character.

I am generally much less judgmental about extramarital affairs than other people (not least because I wouldn't exist if people didn't have them), but DAMN. How can Ms. Hunter actually be mad about the sympathy Elizabeth Edwards is getting? The woman 1) lost a child, 2) lost her husband, and 3) IS TERMINALLY ILL.

Maybe Rielle should just sit down and shut up. You made your bed, now lie in it.
