    as much as vicki's situation is common sense, it would be far more attractive if she wasn't so bloody sanctimonious about it.

    working hard isn't bad. working smart isn't bad, either. it's sad that jeana's spending habits got the best of her...it's hard to argue with the whole real estate commission income. working for less amount of time and making the same cash as vicki would be great if you didn't blow it all at nordstrom's in one day.

    as much as dr. phil annoys me, on a weekly basis i find myself saying "the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior". the more you know! *starburst*

    The first clip actually made me like Dr. Phil... what is the world coming to?!

    And, there is a big difference between loaning a friend a couple bucks and couple thousand bucks, and though I don't watch any RH right now, I have a feeling the controversial non-loan would have been in the latter category.

    This show is absolutely filled to the brim with absurdity and so much of what is wrong with our society, but if I had to choose the cake-topper from last night, it would definitely be Lynn's comment to her daughter about how she was "practically a playboy bunny already!" Oh right, and she said it while at consultation for plastic surgery where, when he wasn't molesting her brow and showing her how she could look like the cat lady, the doctor mentioned a mother/daughter recovery! OH, AND this was all because her daughter's birthday was coming up and she already got a bmw the year before so, hey, why not a nose job!?! #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    I think this show does more to prove how out of wack real estate has been in the past 10 -15 years in certain areas than anything else. The reason why Tamra can't afford her house is because she paid too much for it years ago. These houses were built expensively, sold for nearly half of what they were worth and now everyone's watching the bubble deflate and wondering, "How did we get here?"

    You got here by living above your means, thinking you were wealthy when you were just doing well and believing that the lifestyles of rich and famous were obtainable. They aren't. Y'all wanna know when the reality show bubble is gonna burst - six months. Mainly because these nouveau riche sillies have literally sucked up all their famous time. We will actually see real reality soon and Im excited. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    Ha! These ladies are out of their minds. It looks like Vicki had the only parents who didn't give their daughters money when they needed it. Half of my friends are unemployed and have the same lifestyle they do when they are employed...because of their parents. Um, I would have to move 1,000 miles back home and live with my parents if I lost my job. My parent's don't subscribe to the "we worked hard for our money, so we'll just give you ours so you can have fun, sweetie! Don't forget to be pretty and take care of yourself!"

    I work 15 hours a day and although I'm struggling to save, I'm not struggling to live. My life doesn't rock, but at least I'm not about to be evicted.

    Also, I find it hard to commiserate with Tamra, Gretchen, and Lynne when they don't have jobs. "We can't afford our houses!" Um, that's because it's not free... #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @JinxyMcDeath: I got laid off and downsized quickly and immediately. I can make ends meet now in my way more affordable lifestyle. And strangely, I like living smaller a lot more. And having roommates!

    My parents are having a hard time with it tho...they offered to pay to keep me afloat until I could find another high-paying, soul sucking gig and I had to turn them down. I wouldn't date a guy who lived off mom and dad-it's a self respect thing, isn't it? #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @lermanzo: My parents have never been in a financial position to give me money. And after being un/underemployed for several months this year, I enjoy living small. I even donate now and buy more drinks for my friends! And of course, I hate clothes shopping. And for the first time EVER, I have been able to save up a few months rent - just in case this happens again. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @bluebears: The Republicans I know in her situation blame the housing meltdown on banks being "forced" under the Community Reinvestment Act to "give loans to illegal aliens and poor people who thought they were entitled to a house". They don't blame it on lack of regulation or short-sighted corporate titans. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @Gumbina80: unfortunately, the regulations that were in place to to guard from that kind of short-sightedness were removed during the clinton administration when he signed the NAFTA bill, effectively opening the floodgates for community reinvestment loans. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    I see a lot of Tamra hate, and I can understand. However, she probably doesn't have any marketable skills and there aren't a lot of jobs out there. I don't have children, but I have heard that day care is so outrageously expensive that it's not worth it most of the time. I'm not saying she shouldn't try to find a job, but is it realistic that she would find one that would cover daycare for her kids? #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @femme-bot: Yeah, sucks, but the way to do it would be have one work during the day and one at night. My husband's a chef and that's how a lot of couples in the industry work. We don't have kids, but it works out pretty well with letting the dogs out. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @lermanzo: Poor people also get a lot more sympathy and understanding when they are in tight situations, not to mention help from the government, charities, etc. Just sayin' that its never easy to be financially strapped, no matter how much money you "used" to have.     @FaceMonkey: as a poor person, i know i get none of that help or sympathy from anyone. just looks and sometimes chastisement for not making different choices and for not pulling myself up by my bootstraps.

    Did anyone else hear Vicky say that her daughter got her bachelors in nursing in 3 years, even though it usually take 7 years? What? Is this true?

    I have a few friends that got their nursing degrees within 4 years (not just a certificate). The only ones that took longer were part-time students.

    A BSN takes four years to complete, usually. If you get a master's in nursing it usually takes one or two additional years.

    @WashingMyHair: Vicki works 15 hours a day, which takes most people 340 hours a day. Vicki once sold 73 cars in 45 seconds, and never once had to fill up her Love Tank. Vicki is less likely to enjoy the biker look than anyone you know, including your grandma, and Vicki is also smarter than your grandma because she amasses knowledge at 14.5 times your grandma's speed. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @WashingMyHair: my mom is an r.n. she was telling me that when people go to nursing school instead of a regular college (it's cheaper that way, i believe), it takes you three years, but you aren't awarded a bachelors. you have to continue on with your education to get a bachelor degree, which a lot of hospitals are requiring right now. so my mom when to nursing school, then continued with her bachelor degree. it ended up taking her almost 10 years, all told, because she ended up getting married and giving birth to me in the middle of it all. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    I have no sympathy for any of these women, but there is a part of me that feels like Jeana really needs help. She just seems like she has a lot of emotional baggage stemming from her marriage, as her husband was clearly emotionally and verbally abusive toward her. I remember watching last season and seeing how her oldest son (Shane?) treated her exactly as her husband did, and she just sat there as he berated her. It was painful to watch. Vicki stepped in and reprimanded him, but the point was made. She just seems so...broken. She has just as many awful qualities as the other women, but I just feel that she has issues to deal with that none of the other ones can even comprehend. Leaving the show is probably a good thing. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @Tchotchke: The thing is, her daughter has always seemed REALLY great and well-adjusted to me. So I have always kind of felt like, Jeana is a good person who has problems with men. Her daughter has taken her cues from her, her son has taken his cues from her horrible ex-husband. She seems to dote on the son in a way she doesn't on the daughter, which is probably why the daughter is so much more self-sufficient - it just all makes me really sad. And I do feel bad for Jeana. The episode where her decorator friend was over and her ex slammed the door in the background and started yelling, and she explained that he was still living there because he didn't have anywhere else to go - ugh. The look on her face was that look I have seen on my own face and on the faces of friends, when your abusive partner shows their true face in front of other people and you're mortified and scared at the same time. #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke

    @laureltreedaphne: I feel the same way about both Jeana and her daughter.

    And I think what she was trying to say about Vicky was that Vicky has sacrificed too much by working that hard (see past seasons, when she won't get off the phone for anything), that a balance should be struck between not working and overworking. Or I could be projecting... #therealhousewivesoftheocbroke
