I could probably have lived my life as one of Tim Burton's brain cells and have been very happy. I just love this man's creativity and the artistic ability he has to go with it - I think both are rare gifts and to have them combined is just amazing.
I like to call my boyfriend "Baby Tim Burton" because he looks like him, and they share a LOT in common. Like being misunderstood artists who grew up in sunny Southern California. I love Tim's work and am soo jealous of everyone who gets to see this exhibit!
My mom responds to stories like this by saying she believes it's "demonic." I don't know; I tend to think sometimes evil is just evil and there's no moment where you can say "That turned him evil." It just happened.
So fucked up. I'm glad he didn't get away to Canada, but I wish cops had shot him dead or something. But at least he got burned badly and suffered. Shithead.
The fact that he dressed as Santa, shot the innocent little girl who opened the door to him (and who was probably excited to see Santa!), shot a bunch of people, and then set the house on fire, to try to kill more of them...Oh! And that it was all preplanned...just shows that his man was a sadistic, sociopathic bastard.
When I firs saw the headline on the NYTimes page yesterday they said it was "strange" he was wearing a Santa Claus costume.
No, it isn't "strange". It's smart. So was concealing the flame thrower or whatever the hell he had as a present. Santa is not amiss at a Christmas party...it's a holiday-themed disguise, and unfortunately, one that normally is meant as entertainment for the children, and here drew a little girl whose excitement was rewarded with a bullet to the face.
There's no comfort beyond the fact that he was NOT successful in killing an entire houseful of trapped, terrified people. (He set the house ablaze afterward, didn't he? I think that's what I read.)
This is the sort of story that unfortunately gives bait to gun nuts, but on a personal level...it makes me wish more (RESPONSIBLE,sane, regularly non-violent) citizens were lucky enough to have concealed weapons on them, or at least that a gun would magically appear in the waistband of a would-be victim as soon as the respective psychopath fired his/her first shot. Can't help but think it.
Can't help but feel that way when I think of the shootings in Nickel Mines, in Boulder (thank God Bob Herbert called them what they were...massacres targeting little girls specifically), at Virginia Tech, and now this.
I don't know. As a girl who is dating a guy whose ex girlfriends from over 10 years ago sneak away from their husbands to call and tell them they LOVE them. I find this fucking terrifying.

That's what gets me the hardest--an innocent little girl opens the door, and Santa shoots her in the face. That is seriously fucked up.

Freak went from calling all the time to stalking him to breaking into his house to assaulting me...
Get out while you can if he won't protect you from his mess.
