Re: Jon and Kate + A Ton of F'ing Kids: What I want to know is, how did they end up having 8 kids to begin with? I had read that tried to conceive, had fertility problems, implanted 6 embryos, all 6 were fertilized, and the because of their religious beliefs they refused to terminate any of the fertilized eggs. That sort of pro-life rationale REALLY chaps my ass. If you were listening to GOD, honey, you would have realized that HE DID NOT WANT YOU TO HAVE KIDS, hence you had fertility problems. You should not have messed with god by getting the fertility treatments in the first place. Such as.
@ubetterwork: annnnnnnd friended. I totally agree, it is so hypocritical. No sympathy for risking the health and happiness of your children because you're convinced that your sky fairy would be unhappy if you didn't have a whole litter.
That family would be so much better off if they hadn't had all six. j&K might still be splitting up, but I bet the remaining kids would lead much happier lives.
@ubetterwork: @maggie_may: @greengrey: @LolaQuinn: Ummm don't you all think you're being a tiny bit judgmental? They wanted babies and CHOSE not to abort. That's how abortion works. It is a choice, and if you like that it's a choice, you must acknowledge that some people out there do not want to obtain one. I find no reason to say rude things about J&K's reproductive choices. They did not want to selectively abort, and even being extremely pro-choice myself, it seems like that would be a very hard thing for a parent to do...you're trying so hard for a baby, get pregnant with multiples, and next thing you know your doctor asks you if you want to abort a couple of them.
Clearly the kids turned out fine, and they are all adequately provided for, so I don't see why everyone needs to be so judgmental and, frankly, unnecessarily bitchy about it.
I love how this Carrie person talks about California like we're fucking martians or something. Newsflash, honey, swimsuits are not a bit deal for ANYONE.
Am I the only one who thinks it is REALLY out of line that they are digging through Carrie Prejean's personal family history and bringing up abuse allegations?
@maggie_may: Yeah, I mean, the topless photos were iffy, but they showed that she might have violated her contract, and I suppose sort of called her out on some sort of moral/Christian hypocrisy, which brought upon herself. And it's not like they were personal photos, they were taken with a photographer.
But why the HELL would anyone bring up this abuse stuff? That is her private business and totally irrelevant.
There are just so many levels of irritation with this Prejean crap, the Miss USA pageant is ridiculous, Trump is a paternalistic, egotistical smirking goon, Prejean is a bigot who has a scant understanding of the Constitution, some people used the nude photos to slut shame her, the 24 hour stations are taking her seriously, as are the bigot organizations like NOM. I wish the whole thing would disappear!
I just put on The Blueprint and am mentally adding peanut butter and jelly sandwich references to the lyrics of each track. It is totally enhancing an already fine listening experience.
OK. So as I've said I've never watched Jon & Kate, but I'm curious. How did they go about having 8 kids? Like I know they had two before, were the other 6 just some freakish mistake?
@greengrey: yes. These are your ovaries (plop... an egg is released)... These are your ovaries on fertility drugs (snowstorm of eggs, cue kids screaming).
@greengrey: Well, and though they don't quite bring it to the level of the Duggars, they are also very Christian and when I first started watching the show it was sort of being marketed on the whole "look at this big, white, moral, Christian family!"
@greengrey: Yeah, no, not an "oops." Most couples will selectively reduce the number of embryos to something like 2 or 3. But supposedly they felt that this would be akin to abortion (because they are much more religious than the shows lets on) and HOW DARE YOU GO AGAINST GOD'S WILL BY REDUCING EMBRYOS (nevermind the glaring hypocrisy of turning to fertility treatments in the first place). So what they got isn't some uncontrollable accident or a lesson in the dangers of fertility treatments. They got what they deserved.
@MissMoneypenny: I wasn't trying to imply that it's not abortion. My point is just that it's shitty reasoning...to state that you won't reduce the embryos because you believe it isn't what god wants, but you'll still go ahead with the fertility treatments in the first place.
That's InGLOURious Basterds, Margaret! I mean, Jesus Christ, have a little respect for Quentin Tarantino. I'm sure there's nothing that would offend him more than having his movie title spelled wrong!
@That-Dude: I don't think her haircut has anything to do with why he cheated. And no one deserves to be cheated on, especially someone who gave birth to the dude's eight kids.
Hey, Carrie Prejean: I'm from Jezebel. Snarking on logic-free self-justifying b.s. from outta the mouths of beauty pageant winners to me is no big deal.
She's really big on referencing California. Do we know for sure she could locate it on a map? Such as?
@birdfeet: I think the media will go away very quickly if J & K end the show, stop going on dozens of tours and giving out interviews like candy. Stop accepting the offers and resume normal life, and the media goes away. Maybe give us all an update on Dateline once every 7 years or so. They created this monster, and they can stop it anytime they're ready.
OK, so a school district is hoping to make a role model of a woman who has demonstrated her only talents are to walk around in high heels, display astounding ignorance and bigotry, whine on 8 different morning news shows about how meeeeean people are and get someone else to fund her new boobies?
I love Wanda Sykes. I had no idea she was gay until recently. She used to do these hillarious monologues about dating men, I wonder if she switched teams? Either way, she is awesome, and congratulations to her and her partner.
@lisas: Ha! I swear as soon as I read that I googled "Wilmer Valderrama steak," hoping I could find a nice photo of him sinking his sanctimonious teeth into a big juicy one. Alas.

Please google "Dionne Quints" and take your kids off the air.
Thanks.
