    Do there need to be more people of color in the senate? Hell to the yes. But I am so pissed that this motherfucker would feign interest in putting someone of color in the seat. The seat is tainted and whomever Blago picks should be swiftly shown the door.


    This also means the term "race card" will be trotted by pundits and blogs alike and I haaate that term.

    Roll Call had an article about this today that said it is doubtful anyone Blago names to the seat would be seated. Apparently the Democratic Congressional Caucus sent Blago a letter earlier this month saying they would exercise its constitutional right to refuse to seat his appointed replacement.


    So maybe all is not lost?

    @formergr: Rep Reid was at the podium prior to Blago's announcement reiterating that they would not seat his appointee. Blago did not listen...again. I think some of that hair is getting into his ear canal and muffling any voice of reason.

    It is indeed a circus, but I am increasingly bothered by the rush to judgment. There is no indictment and he certainly hasn't been convicted of anything. Choosing Burris is weird but frankly, there was no chance we were going to get a senator in place any time soon any other way than this -- not even if Blago resigned. Illinois kinda needs a senator right now.

    I'm a black guy and as I sat in the nail salon today waiting to get my eyebrows done I was on the phone with my mother telling her how much of an IDIOT this chicago governor was and all of the STUNTS he was pulling.


    When I tell you the amount of rage that creeped into me when that guy came on talking about A VOTE AGAINT BURRIS is a vote against senate diversity. UGH. Talking about hes going to contact the congressional black caucus. Ugh


    I am so over all of this crap. Like seriously blagovogjeckjeflkdefj GET OVER YOURSELF. And I dont care if you presented freaking harriet tubman for the senate seat ITS STILL TAINTED becuz you are not credible nor worthy of making the decision.
