    Up until about two years ago, I listened to country music all the time. Then it went and got what I like to call Sarah Palinized. Every single damn song is about how life is dandy in Real Amurrica. There's even one out about "Rocking the Beer Gut." It's so much worse than when the country of the 90s-early 00s that was pop influenced. Now you can't sing about anything but a perfect church-going heterosexual married couple with children who are happy all the time. And there's this whole sub-genre of songs about kids who say things that are intelligent beyond their years. BARF. I miss the days when country reflected what life is actually like. Nowadays even a song like Martina McBride's Fourth of July probably wouldn't be released b/c it reflected poorly on heterosexual marriage. And god forbid anyone sing something like Sunday Morning Coming Down. Country music: you and I are done. #cmas

    @Dictator for Life: Yup. It's been icky for a long time. I love Lyle Lovett, Johnny Cash, and Dwight Yoakum, but this new stuff is just dreck. Pseudo patriotic, GOP cum guzzlin' dreck. #cmas

    Robin Roberts is just stunningly beautiful. The short hair just works on her, no matter what her reason for cutting it was.

    Reba, Jennifer Nettles (love her voice), and Taylor Swift are the winners IMO. I would like each of their dresses delivered to my home ASAP.

    I also love Nicole's dress, but suspect that I hate the shoes. #cmas

    I feel like that last thing LeAnn Rimes needs to be doing right now is modeling bridal fashions. Shouldn't she be going the Abbie Cornish route and appearing nunlike to post-scandal red carpets??

    Martina McBride looks like she's wearing a few Target tree skirts bound together with the bodice from a Forever 21 prom dress. Course she's lovely enough to just wear the Christmas tree and look great, but still.

    And why do I feel like Taylor Swift is not-so-subtly campaigning for a Disney princess musical? NOTHING PLEASES ME TODAY. #cmas

    @bluebears: She was promoting that awful looking show she's on now about "real people" in "working class" middle america. I think she felt saying that in front of the country crowd would get a big cheer. Instead, everyone just looked bored that some annoying woman was plugging her show. #cmas

    I think Kidman's dress is lovely.
    Rimes needs a new makeup artist.
    McBride, I love you, but no.
    Faith, you get an A-. The minus is for the nails and hair, but you look gorge.
    Reba is a stud.
    Nettles, Carolina Herrera? Love the elegant dress paired with the casual hair.
    Wow, Swift really DOES like sparkly dresses.
    Underwood confuses me, because her style is elevated but she sticks with the country music hair. It doesn't work.
    O'Dell looks nice.
    I would normally not like Scott's dress, but it's really working for her.

    Everything else is fug. #cmas

    @Penny: I agree with most everything, but especially your take on Carrie Underwood. This dress could have been great, but the hair and makeup paired with the dress's spaghetti straps give it a Senior Prom 2001 feel. #cmas

    @jigglyball: My friend's date wore what seems to be an exact replica of that dress, hair, makeup, and bracelet at Prom 1999. Down to the last stitch. Her clutch was silver, though. Maybe the black is what makes it modern. Or not.
