I don't care if Reanimated Coco Chanel herself with the help of Jesus and a unicorn with opposable thumbs designed Desiree Rogers' gown. It's really... awful. It looks like she raided a child's costume chest and ruined some sheer ill-fitting bedroom curtains. Her outfit reminds me of a waterlogged Zelda Fitzgerald.
The McNeil family's comments are pretty blatant admissions that Catherine was inflicting those cuts on herself. I just hope she gets all the support, love and hope she needs to pull through. My experiences with people I love self-mutilating makes this an issue that's close to my heart.
@Tchotchke: Ditto. However, oddly, I'm kind of glad that she chose to go out in public with the scars on her arms. I regularly cut my shoulders and my breasts, and it's only been very recently that I'm able to face the public world with the evidence still in my skin.
The sooner we stop being ashamed of our disease, the sooner the rest of the world will accept it as such.
If guys are going to start wearing skirts it's a good thing that I have the legs for it. I'm worried about how to keep the fellas warm, though. I only need one adam's apple. #prada
@lurkerbynature: OH MY GOD Utilikilts! I forgot about Utilikilts. Someone brought one of their catalogues to a class I took in college, and it brought the lulz. #prada
@yinyang: Let me introduce you to the formal lava-lava. It's pretty common round these parts, and kinda uh incredibly hot.
(and I couldn't find a suitable photo with my Google Image Search skills, but the 'gallery' section in this website for the film Sione's Wedding showcases it spectacularly. hilaaarious film, too.) #prada

@Jenna: They are truly awesome and very comfortable. I nearly bought one for myself when I visited their shop in Seattle. I'm sure they're even more (um) freeing for men.
One of my friends has one, and the only thing that looks better on him is 19th century formal clothing (including the top hat). #prada
When I was a kid, I always thought they had it backwards with pants and skirts. It seemed to me that skirts made more sense for boys to wear - as anatomically speaking, it's more difficult to stuff their stuff into a constrictive set of trousers than to just have it swinging round beneath a skirt or a dress.
And women, having our anatomy neatly tucked away, would obviously have a much easier time with pants.
Though I was always happy I had the option of wearing both, and used to loudly exclaim how wonderful wearing a sundress in the summer was to my guy friends skulking around in heavy shorts and jeans. #ragtrade
@hydrogen_jukebox: my mum always used to point out how other countries/areas of the world did it differently, too. For example: the middle east, and india. #prada
@hydrogen_jukebox: I know what you mean. I spent one summer in a sarong whenever I wasn't in my swimsuit. Guys can do OK with a pair of loose-fitting linen pants or shorts, tho'... #prada
@Penny: yeah 299 doesn't seem so crazed to me. Mind you I personally wouldn't buy them, but I see boots all the time that run well over 100 so...? #jeanpaulgaultierfortarget
@Penny: $299 — at H&M — is just against my nature. For God's sake, with a little creativity, you can find Manolos for well under $200! #jeanpaulgaultierfortarget
If the MadMen line is selling at Brooks Brothers expect it to be crazy expensive. I've been in BB from time to time when looking for a simple black skirt/pants and that shit is bananas expensive. #jeanpaulgaultierfortarget
@bluebears: I saw an ad for the Mad Men/Brooks Brothers suits, and I think they were around $900/$1000. I'm not sure how much Brooks Brothers normally charges, and that's definitely way more than I'd ever pay, but I don't think it's as crazy expensive as, say, an Armani suit. #jeanpaulgaultierfortarget
@ytuhermanotambien: yeah I don't know about mens suit prices but the womens clothes at BB are just beyond expensive. They're basically more conservative version of the stuff at Banana or Ann Taylor but they are like 3 times the price.

I hope she wears those thigh-high boots to the next state dinner.
