I think we should be less concerned with Lifetime's influence and way more worried that Bunim/Murray has taken over production and the show is no longer produced by Magical Elves. I don't need Project Runway turning into The Real World: Los Angeles.
It's interesting that Lifetime is going to be the scapegoat if the show sucks. They must think it's looking pretty good, or I would have expected their PR machine to keep reminding people of Bunim/Murray's involvement.
They are moving the show to LA?! Sorry, I'm late to the game. I am worried! NYC and LA are both fashion cities, but I think NYC has more creativity and edge. And I totally admit my bias as a native NYer, but I think it's true too. LA seems to be more about about brands and trends.
Maybe it won't affect the designers themselves too much. But, but.. no more shopping at Mood? No workspace at Parsons? :(
I have to say that the fashion show was such a fail, they need a new word for it. The thing that gave project runway credibility was the actual talent of the designers, the fact that each judge brought a distinct point to the panel, including Heidi who is a model.
The fashion show's host was random, some of the contestants couldn't sew, and there was way too much of an emphasis on people being bitchy or useless drama.
I'll take Lifetime's soft hues, talent, and credibility over that mess.
@Trulymadlyme: I was baffled by the fashion show, and watched 1.5 episodes. I couldn't figure out if they'd intentionally picked people who could not sew (and not only couldn't sew, but criticized the judges for mentioning that they couldn't sew) that show was just a mess.
@meg9: watching that episode, I literally had to get up and leave the room. I was that annoyed. How can someone be on a show about making clothes when they can't sew!
I fully expect to see Sheree and Lisa Wu-Hartwell up in the piece next season.
Every now and then he'll be on an episode of TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress" since he's doing bridal now--Kenneth Poole maybe? He's still every bit as fabulous as he was on PR though!
Really how bad can it be? Project Runway is like pizza. Even if it's not the greatest season it'll still be decent enough for me to watch it obsessively.
Project Runway: MOON! I'm so in. "For your next challenge, you will have to construct a cocktail dress and matching space helmet for a zero-gravity shindig. Must use at least three moon rocks, foil, and one or more pieces from the original Apollo 11."
I just heard about the All-Star Challenge thing a couple of days ago, and I'm about 100x more excited for that than I am for the actual season to start.
@wordinedgewise: This was the first that I've heard of it and I must confess to shedding a few tears of joy. I'm rooting for Daniel Vosovic as I think he was robbed during his season.
@wordinedgewise: Same here! Interesting that Jeffrey is the only winner to return - maybe he really needs the extra publicity?
And I'm way exited for more Chris March, though I doubt he has much of a chance (the hair collection, anyone?). If I had to bet, I'd say Daniel or Uli ftw.
@FattyCatty: I loved Korto and her work. I need to go back and look at all the seasons and see who won and who lost--they're all blending together for me right now.
@BabyJane: Bravo has been replaying whole seasons as marathons lately. Daniel's season (2?) was just on, and it totally confirmed that he was robbed. The chick who one is really talented, but her collection was pretty fug. Daniel's was by far the best.
@RitaCamill: What, you don't want to smell like BLAAAAAAKE? Every morning I wake up and rub cigarette butts and cotton balls soaked in whiskey on my pulse points in the hopes of achieving eau de Winehouse.
Girls! Pick a Twilight Team! Would you rather be stalked by a creepy vampire who, with your knowledge or consent, watches you while you sleep, or be kissed by a werewolf after you've already told him no, because no secretly means yes? Both are SO INCREDIBLY ROMANTIC.
@CurtCole: I don't know what your problem is! He wasn't in love with the infant, he was just felt an instant, incredibly strong connection to her and is destined to marry her when he grows up. NOTHING WEIRD ABOUT THAT.
@Annabellie: I don't get the team-picking thing in general. Aren't you supposed to do that with stuff like Jen and Angie, where it could potentially go either way? The books are over (thank god), she picked Edward, and who cares. I'm not about to go placing bets on the 2007 World Series, you know?
"This beautiful dress from Leanne's final collection would be much, much better." You mean the jacket with the crazy Elizabeth I collar and short shorts?!
