Ha ha. Joke's on ... somebody. Golfing is infinitely more fun than changing diapers and wiping snotty noses.

Because something is friendly to women with children it becomes a battlezone for people with out children?
Really?
I swear to God sometimes this site look for an way to fit in the weekly bashing of the mothers.

(I have not read the article yet because I cannot link to it, but based on the summary, I am guessing my rant is justified!)

(Couldn't open the link but did find that LA Times has an article on Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and one on the Hollywood Pinups, a coffee table book of Hollywood stars photographed a la Vargas girls. Susan Sarandon looks way sexy. Hunting for the article wasn't a loss.)

And one who also wants children but just hasn't yet.
Not to go too off-topic, but I personally don't find people, especially women, who choose to be child-free offensive at all. In fact, I think too many people have kids for the wrong reasons.
I've seen more than an instance or two of women "forgetting" their BC and getting pregnant to hang onto a man.
But that's something else entirely. It seems unfortunately that babies in so many ways are just another Hollywood trend now. I mean, these are people you're talking about. It's not a restaurant, nightclub or handbag.

i wonder how many men would quietly think to themselves that the purposefully childless woman just hadn't met the right man yet?

Isn't the whole point that the career-world used to be unfriendly to people with children, and now there are a few headline worthy instances where it's no longer an issue?

If they aren't let into the treehouse, they might as well bond with their kids while they're getting the slice the action that they're allowed.

I work in Hollywood, on the production legal and film finance side of the business.
I have ZERO idea what these people are talking about. Maybe for people like Laylee Olfat, this is true. But unfortunately, Laylee is small potatoes. Trust me, the top of the top female producers, lawyers, studio execs, etc. do not meet at the playground and at birthday parties.
I wish I could access the rest of the article to find out if I'm wrong and suddenly Amy Pascal, Melanie Cook, Kathleen Kennedy, Donna Langley, and Pam Abdy et al are talking shop over dirty diapers, but I doubt it. Because they're kind of busy running studios and making movies.

I really look forward to more child-free zones. I think they're just as necessary as spaces where children are welcome. But let's just say I don't want to see you changing your child's organic baby diaper or get accosted by organic pea puree while I'm having a $100/pp meal (oh yes it's happened).

Long way to say heck yes to being child-free, even though I have a child. Weird!
