If guys are going to start wearing skirts it's a good thing that I have the legs for it. I'm worried about how to keep the fellas warm, though. I only need one adam's apple. #prada
@lurkerbynature: OH MY GOD Utilikilts! I forgot about Utilikilts. Someone brought one of their catalogues to a class I took in college, and it brought the lulz. #prada
@yinyang: Let me introduce you to the formal lava-lava. It's pretty common round these parts, and kinda uh incredibly hot.
(and I couldn't find a suitable photo with my Google Image Search skills, but the 'gallery' section in this website for the film Sione's Wedding showcases it spectacularly. hilaaarious film, too.) #prada
@yinyang:
@Jenna: They are truly awesome and very comfortable. I nearly bought one for myself when I visited their shop in Seattle. I'm sure they're even more (um) freeing for men.
One of my friends has one, and the only thing that looks better on him is 19th century formal clothing (including the top hat). #prada
When I was a kid, I always thought they had it backwards with pants and skirts. It seemed to me that skirts made more sense for boys to wear - as anatomically speaking, it's more difficult to stuff their stuff into a constrictive set of trousers than to just have it swinging round beneath a skirt or a dress.
And women, having our anatomy neatly tucked away, would obviously have a much easier time with pants.
Though I was always happy I had the option of wearing both, and used to loudly exclaim how wonderful wearing a sundress in the summer was to my guy friends skulking around in heavy shorts and jeans. #ragtrade
@hydrogen_jukebox: my mum always used to point out how other countries/areas of the world did it differently, too. For example: the middle east, and india. #prada
@hydrogen_jukebox: I know what you mean. I spent one summer in a sarong whenever I wasn't in my swimsuit. Guys can do OK with a pair of loose-fitting linen pants or shorts, tho'... #prada
True story: Ally Hilfiger once took a pic of me at a party so she could use my outfit as "inspiration" for her line. All I could do was think of how my sister and I used to make fun of her on Rich Girls. And at how embarrassed I was to still recognize her after all those years. :(
Man, I wish they had Uniqlo on the West Coast. I was right up the street from the one in NYC and it was awesome. Now I have to get my friends in NYC to take pics of stuff and send 'em to me so I can send them money to pick up an item or two.
I just told my boyfriend that if the Max suit is under a grand, I'm buying it. He's usually the (much) more financially level-headed of the two of us, but he was like "I can understand that." Whoop!
