But I do have a bit of an opinion on this. I didn't appreciate the generalization that was implied in the original article. This quote, kinda bothered me: "In front of hundreds of active duty military personnel - the very personnel proponents of Don't Ask Don't Tell claim..." My husband's an active duty soldier, but automatically b/c he's in the military he's for DADT? A lot of the guys could care less about whether or not the soldier serving next to them is gay, as long as he/she got their backs it's all good. I hate when people stereotype soldiers as these stuck in the 80's homophobes. It's the asshats who are in charge of everything that need to be talked to or stereotyped, these are the people who are keeping this archaic policy in effect.

On the other hand, My BF pointed out the turn out for Colbert looks to be much larger than some of the other televised USO shows, like WWE--when you'd think it would be the other way round.
