Will confidence pay my student loans? Will confidence get me a job? Will confidence get me an equal paycheck? Will confidence help me survive in this shitty economy?
OBVIOUSLY all I'm missing is confidence. If I were just confident, I would never have any pressures to revisit my propensities toward disordered eating. If I were just CONFIDENT, clothes and shoes would magically appear in my size and I could shop FREELY and HAPPILY and everything would always look AMAZING. If I were just CONFIDENT, no one would ever bitch at me about my weight even if it isn't their fucking business. Obviously the ONLY THING that I have EVER DONE WRONG HERE in years of worrying and fretting and eating disorderedly and exercising like mad just so I could finally fit into little jeans like all the other girls did is BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH CONFIDENCE. Yes. This is it. This is exactly it. Watch me be confident! All my problems will DISAPPEAR.
interesting that the african-american men on the panel (was one of them from 'best week ever'? i can't remember his name - chuck something or other) were the ones saying that all the women were beautiful, regardless of size. the white guys and mike were vocal about liking the smallest woman of the three.
i know who mia is. she is a model who works for a modelling agency that i'm also affiliated with. this had to be a paying gig.
@Talaton: I got major creep vibes from that, too. As soon as she was IDd, he was like "I LIKE THAT ONE THAT ONE IS GOOD." We don't need to know your preference, sir.
@jennytea: Ooh, you pitchfork of sexytime, get all up in my haystack of hotness.
I watched Mike and Juliet for the first time when I didn't have to work Monday. Or at least I tried to. I was sitting down with my coffee and bowl of Just Bunches! and they started discussing the Chris Brown/Rihanna debacle. Mike asked Juliet if she thought that Rihanna's injuries were justified if "she started it," and boom, yeah, just like that, I was watching something else.
I am clearly incredibly sexy right now. Because I am overflowing with confidence that this is the grossest, creepiest talk show segment I've seen in a long time.
That said, I wish society would just drop the term attractive. Because it depends on the person. I am so tired of friends of mine saying well, "I really like him or her, but do you think he or she is cute enough?" I almost started handing out cards that said "if you like them they are attractive enough."
@BrutallyHonestZombies: I hear that if you have a boyfriend/husband with you at all times, it helps with the self-confidence thing. (Or is that just when you walk into a party? I'm confused.)
@BabyJane: Duh, ladies! Weren't you listening? Just stand with your hand on your hip at all times. This conveys confidence, which attracts men, which fosters actual confidence (because that only comes from external affirmation, such as a man telling you you're like a "ball pit" into which he'd like to jump). See, it all ties together!
@BrutallyHonestZombies: It's just a jump to the left and then a step to the right; with your hands on your hips, you bring your knees in tight. But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane.

Or, crap - maybe all I need is a real man taking care of me to be confident.
Or can I never have confidence again after I turn 30?
I'm so confused! And unconfident!
