I was so relieved when my mom said she has "mixed feelings" on Palin. I told her how she's criticizing the media for reporting things she said or wrote, and she agreed that's BS (I'm paraphrasing). But she did say she would read the book if she had time. But "mixed feelings" relieves me as it means her shit detector isn't malfunctioning entirely. #sarahpalin
I'm ashamed of all of you self-loathing feminists critiquing Sarah Palin just because she stands for everything that's wrong with America, the world and maybe the universe as we know it. We have to support her; she has a vagina! Didn't Leslie Sanchez teach you anything??? #sarahpalin
She pretends no particular familiarity with the Middle East, the Iraq war or Islamic politics — "I knew the history of the conflict," she writes, "to the extent that most Americans did."
Whoa. Now THERE'S a scary prospect. Imagine a vice president who's barely aware of the difference between Iran and Iraq. #sarahpalin
@Cam/ron: I can see it now... "I told a bunch of people I love the book Animal Farm. I didn't realize until later that it was an allegory about the evils of capitalism. I'm a fiscal conservative... FML" #sarahpalin
I clutch the following paragraph to my breast and softly snuggle it like a new-born chinchilla:
"A CNN poll taken last month indicates that 7 out of 10 Americans now think Ms. Palin is not qualified to be president, and even as ardent a conservative as Charles Krauthammer lamented in September 2008, "the paucity of any Palin record or expressed conviction on the major issues of our time." ."
7 out of 10. It's not great. It's not a ratio to be overly proud of. But I don't care. I'm going to love and nurture that little statistic till it grows up to be a gorgeously robust and healthy 10 out of 10 one day. I swear I will. #sarahpalin

@A Small Turnip: John Rogers, one of the writers for "Leverage", made a comment during a discussion on his blog once that stuck with me. The person he was having a discussion with wondered what percentage of the population was, at any given time, absolutely nuts. Rogers threw out a percentage right off the top of his head -- twenty-seven percent.
Where did he get that from? The Illinois Senate race between Obama and Alan Keyes. They were both black, so racism wasn't a factor. Alan Keyes was from out of state, and he was a belligerent tool. He STILL managed to get twenty-seven percent of the vote.
That number has stuck in my head and now it's never surprising to me anymore how in polls like this, twenty-five to thirty percent of people come off completely mental and oblivious. #sarahpalin
"...thoroughly ungrateful toward the McCain campaign for putting her on the national stage."
Awww . Poor Sawwah. And all you had to do was turn them down for the VP candidacy. And refuse all subsequent publicity. Like, um, your current book tour.
(What does it say, especially in light of this morning's Dirt Bag, that I mistook the last phrase for "Playboy Hit Job" on the first read?)
Luckily she doesn't have the brains to go along with all that ambition. That would be scary - she might really go places. Instead, she's content to blame everyone and burn bridges. That's not going rogue, that's (ultimately) going nowhere. #sarahpalin

I would like a President, nay, most politicians to be a lot g-damn smarter and wiser than the average American.
Someone who can't pronounce nuclear should not be allowed to have command of the most devastating arsenal the world has ever known. #sarahpalin
