This has been out for a while in the UK. My kids saw it on Halloween, I would have liked to see it too but stayed in for the trick-or-treaters. Their review was that it indeed was "FANTASTIC". I'll look forward to seeing it once it comes out on dvd! #fantasticmrfoxreviews
@mepo - Robert Cornhole invented it: I just read The BFG for the first time, and the part about having different kinds of dreams for girls and boys pissed me off. Insidious sexism!
Matilda was my favourite book as a kid. I've been meaning to read it again. #fantasticmrfoxreviews
@MalinaMango: Oh no, I so missed that. I leave my critical analysis at the door when it comes to Dahl. I've taught Children's lit and ruined my students' beloved childhood tales, so I refuse to do it to myself. #fantasticmrfoxreviews
Hm, does Liz Hurley know red wine has loads of antiaging antioxidants that are very good for your heart and arteries? I think wodka (and other hard liquor) has far more bloating properties.
And frankly, I enjoy a glass of cab too much to care about a bit of bloat around the stomach area. Life is more fun this way. #lindsaylohandad
@BlondeGoddess: Well, the bloat may also be partly because a diet of six daily raisins, in which Liz has stated she indulges at least semi-frequently, can't be terribly alcohol-absorbent. #lindsaylohandad
"Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt were married November 2 in San Francisco."
Congrats, handsome!
I've been a fan of his since "Swingers," and found that he just kept getting cuter in every role. So... It's probably for the best that he is married now, too. No threat to DandiDude anymore (unlike before. In my occasional daydreams.). And to his "Standoff" co-star? Awwwwww! Happy. #lindsaylohandad
@lisas: Me, too. I mean, what exactly was supposed to be appealing about this jackass? I never understood it. I am delighted you understand. Hearted. #lindsaylohandad
@Ms Meghan: It is a highly uneven show, but there have been some amazing episodes. The later half of season one is full of dark and delightfully twisted moments, particularly the unaired "Epitaph One".
At its core, it is a show about free will, what we can do vs. what we should do, corporate greed, human exploitation, and other gray shades of morality. However, it comes off as "what male sexual fantasy is Eliza Dushku going to fulfill this week" which I don't blame you for not finding appealing.

@The_Fantastic_Miss_Fanshawe: Right, but the prostitution angle never sat well with me, and Whedon's reasoning of "I'm a feminist" sounds remarkably similar to "I have black friends." #lindsaylohandad
@Mrs. Stephen Fry: My friend wrote about the cancellation on facebook, and I pointed out that Firefly is the better canceled show. :-) #lindsaylohandad
@Ms Meghan: Wow, try watching the show before you make a dumb generalization without anything to back it up with. It was actually HIGHLY against prostitution. The show was uneven, I'll give you that, but that had nothing to do with it essentially being about human trafficking. It's easy to criticize the show for being a 'what can Dusku dress up as next' but that was hardly the case. The times we actually see her with men, its displayed as perverse, creepy and generally unsettling. The most recent episode that aired addressed a doll who was placed into the dollhouse against her will by a man trying to control her. It was sad, highly fucked up and anything but glamorized. #lindsaylohandad
1. I am a big fan of a lot of the work Joss Whedon does.
2. I find nothing appealing about watching something like Dollhouse, I don't watch Law and Order SVU for the same reason. I have issues watching the sexual exploitation of women, even if it's not real.
3. My post came off much stronger online than it did in my head, so I'm sorry. #lindsaylohandad
I love when cool people like Eva Green admit to suffering from crippling shyness. It makes me feel like less of a freak for my own social anxieties. #lindsaylohandad
Every day on my way to work, or as soon as I get to my office, I drink one cup of coffee.
I am not sure my boss would approve if I change my routine to a glass of fizzy water with vodka, but I'll ask. Maybe he'll be more lenient if I use orange juice since that is a breakfast drink. #lindsaylohandad
@HadwinBabazoid: Good news is that Joss was realistic about it and said a while back he'd be giving us closure in ep 13. I read somewhere they're in the middle of filming ep 11, so they have the chance to give it a proper ending.
Fox will be airing the rest of the season in December (2 shows each Friday) and January, so there's still a chance to enjoy what's left! #lindsaylohandad
Also, Jon if they were violating child labor laws how about you sue them in defense of your kids BEFORE they sue you first. Way to be a good dad buddy. #lindsaylohandad
I'm with Jane Lynch. If one person's enjoyment of a film requires everyone around them to have their experience lessened or ruined, at least advise people ahead of time. #lindsaylohandad
@JennaW: Agreed. And if the movie theater was mostly empty, as it sounds like it was, there's no reason to sit right behind someone else. #lindsaylohandad
@HadwinBabazoid: Me too! Ever since seeing the not-aired-on-tv episode set in the future, I've been waiting for it to get cee-ray-zee. That and the recent actual development of Topher.
It's so sad. I love Joss Whedon so much. Seriously, ya'll. The last episode of Dollhouse was an awesome look at controlling crazy abusive rapist men. And it was really good. #lindsaylohandad
@laureltreedaphne: Sorry that was meant to go in the above thread. And I can't edit it for some reason.
But what I was going to say is--not if the blind person's group was there first, and Jane Lynch sits down afterward. Are they supposed to just get up and move around? #lindsaylohandad
@Cimorene: No, but you lean forward and say, "I just wanted to let you know ..." and then explain the reason for what would otherwise be unacceptable talking. Then *Jane* would have had the chance to move away. #lindsaylohandad
Did you guys catch The Onion headline this morning, about how Lou Dobbs is really an undocumented worker (illegal immigrant on their page) who was deported and that's why he quit? CLASSIC. #lindsaylohandad
@bluetrain84: "Acting on anonymous tips from within the Hispanic-American community, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on Wednesday deported Luis Miguel Salvador Aguila Dominguez, who has been living illegally in the United States under the name Lou Dobbs for 48 years."
Lovely, isn't it? And I am itching to see what the Daily Show has to say about the Dobbs departure.
@A Small Turnip: Btw, I have always liked your user name and it makes me think of the small white turnips that you pull out of the ground in Super Mario World and then throw at people. #lindsaylohandad
@Sev: My crazy right-wing coworker just said "well, censorship is alive and well at CNN, they tried to censor Lou because he tried to speak from his heart about important topics like illegals, and he just couldn't bear to lie to please to lefties."
He is a real treat to listen to, and yes, he does speak in run-on sentences. #lindsaylohandad
@bluetrain84: @tailfeather: Ooooh, how nice of you to say that, Train! Tailfeather's on the money, as usual - it's a reference to Baldrick's favourite wee veggie. Turnips are just funny, aren't they? I'm not up to speed on my video games, but I think I'm going to have to find Super Mario World just to throw a few turnips at 'em. Sounds good for the soul.
Your name always reminds me (and I really do mean this in the best possible way) of my beloved Thomas the Tank Engine. Trains rule, especially nice ones like Thomas. #lindsaylohandad
@bluetrain84: Jesus Christ. I'm not sure whether I'd scream like a kettle at that, or just collapse in helpless laughter. What a tit.
I think the only way to remain sane in the face of such crazy is just to nod in solemn agreement with whatever he says, and then put a finger to your lips and whisper "But shhhhh! You know the CIA's bugging us, right? Be careful!". It passes the time, anyway. #lindsaylohandad
Can you imagine having your parents fight over you, publicly, in that manner when you're what, 23 years old?
They are really the worst stage parents of all time. They won't ever let her go. They'll let her basically destroy her career, and perhaps even herself, but they won't take themselves out of the picture, as long as they can get a bit of fame out of it.
Neither of them seem to realize that perhaps they're the reason Lindsay is such a mess. #lindsaylohandad
@hortense: Honestly? No, my brain can't even wrap around the concept. Which makes me incredibly grateful for both of my nice, normal, rational, loving, publicity-shy parents. #lindsaylohandad
