I'm not so sure that this is a scripted drama. Go to any Olive Garden in New Jersey and you'll witness an extremely similar scene (although the parents wouldn't cover their children's ears upon the word bitch, the maitre d' should have more hair gel, and there would be 470% more acrylic nails).
I AM GOING TO SEE "MERCY MADONNA OF MALAWI" ON THURSDAY!
Sorry for shouting, but I feel that's an announcement that merits all-caps. I saw the performers on the street today (in costume, including the blonde wig on the dude who plays Madonna) and asked for a flyer, and I got two friends to agree to come see it with me, and we're going to go on Thursday, and I am absolutely sure it's going to be AWESOME! Woohoo!
@MizJenkins: It's a musical, performed by a theatre group from Malawi, about Madonna's adoption of Mercy James. Madonna is played by a Malawian man in a blonde wig. It's playing here in Edinburgh until the end of August, and the reviews of it have been quite positive. It's been mentioned on Jezebel a couple of times I think, and on Racialicious and reviews of it are all over the UK media. I'm not sure if links will work, but here are some URLS:
Looks like those children have had no trouble getting into the groove with their new mom, and it's nice to see them on a holiday on La Isla Bonita. I'm sure she teaches them to express themselves, and has been a ray of light in their lives. It looks like they cherish each other. She has no need to justify her love to me, those kids are lucky stars.
I have to say, putting aside all the controversy of the adoption, that whenever I see photos of Madonna and all her children they look completely at ease and happy. I'm sure Mercy is still settling in, but I don't doubt at all that they are loved and cared for.
@cuteasabutton: Given the people present in this photo, I wanted to make some sort of joke about where Jesus Luz fits into Madonna's pantheon of children, but I couldn't quite find a way to make it successful. Meh.
And I don't condone violence, I'm not sure why Perez is surprised that he runs that blog and someone walled up and slapped him. Maybe this is my backwater, small town roots showing, but parking lot fights is a normal occurrence where I'm from. Especially when someone mouths off. Again, not condoning, but also, not understanding the level of shockitude.
@dangerslut: That was my thought. Plus, why call him a "faggot"? For someone who complained so much about that answer to his question on gay marriage to use slurs like that is so hypocritical. But, hey, it's Perez Hilton. He made fun of stars' weights even when he was bigger than they are so hypocrisy seems to be his forte.

It's not good acting if your playing yourself.

I think it would have been more convincing if they'd done the Jersey Shore fist pump into the air.

I am looking forward to it like I can't even find words to say.

David: No really, stop encouraging her.
Mercy: I wonder if I could make it over that fence while she's distracted...
