Mr. Rogers was my first crush. I'd kiss the TV ... that's when I discovered how the TV picture is made up of zillions of tiny dots of color (when the screen is wet you can see them).

My first kitten was named Henry, for Henrietta. (I totally could never do that "stripper name" thing.) #mrrogers

I got a 100%, but you know, I'm from Pittsburgh, and have met Mr. Rogers and Mr. McFeely. Also, one time I was at the childrens' museum when they had a full sized land of make-believe. So really, anything less would have been a disappointment.

90%! Mr. Rogers was the dad who cared about my feelings.

Looking back, all his puppets' names and their voices sound like they were made up by Emmit Hunnicutt.

I got 60% which is way better than I thought I'd do since I was a much more loyal Mr Dressup watcher as a kid. #mrrogers

$17.50 is a total bargain! I've had my copies for several years, so I paid almost twice that.

I wish I had named my budgies Casey and Finnegan... but realistically, they are both too chirpy for either of them to be Finnegans. :) #mrrogers

I got a 50%. I was never a big fan of the show. My mom couldn't get me to watch it.

    Oh lord. I got 100%.

I'd like to add that at home I was not even allowed to watch this show, because my mom claimed that Mr. Rogers was a "pervert." I didn't know what that meant at the time, only that it meant I wasn't allowed to watch the show.

Once a week, my mom used to clean my great aunt's house, and while she was working, I used to sit on Aunt Laverne's bed and watch Mr. Rogers and all of the PBS shows with her. She was the best! Maybe the positive association helped me remember that far back. #mrrogers

As an adult, I heard Mr. Rogers on a radio show (at least 12 years ago now). A woman had called into the show and told Mr. Rogers that she was a single mom, and her parents helped out a lot. Her dad was the only father-figure her 2 boys had in their whole lives, but he passed away. So one day, they came to her and asked her if Mr. Rogers could be their grandpa now. And Mr. Rogers replied, "Well, of course. I'd be honored."

I was WEEPING. I loved Mr. Rogers! #mrrogers

Only 80% for me. I didn't know the name of the opera or Gran Pere. Was he a later character?

@token_illiterate_commenter: I didn't know Gran Pere either! I was watching in the late 80's-early 90's if that helps.

And I couldn't remember if he was in Philly or Pittsburgh (knew it was PA, though!) So 80% for me as well. #mrrogers

@token_illiterate_commenter: I watched religiously in the late 70s/early 80s and I don't remember Gran Pere either. I'm a dork (and I'm procrastinating at work) so I googled it, and apparently he debuted in episode #6 in 1968. Couldn't find how often he was on, but apparently he lived in the Eiffel Tower and spoke French. So there you have it. #mrrogers

Laura Ingalls Wilder? She was just a normal woman who wrote such pleasant books that take you away to such a nice place. And the character Laura was hardworking, fiery, smart, and a good person.

I grew up in the country so I waaaay got behind Little House on the Prairie.

@scrittrice: I did love Laura! I was disappointed when she said she wasn't a women's libber like Almanzo's sister, but she sure acted like one! :D

I just recently reread all the books. Aren't they fascinating?
