Meerkats have to be vigilant because of cobras and stuff, and even though this one seems to be part of some zoo's living Africa diorama, it's probably pretty hard to turn that "watch for cobras" instinct off. Just ask anyone from Heorot who got stuck with a Grendel watch. Oh wait...
