The first family dinner in Soul Food and the breakfast that Celie cooks for Shug in The Color Purple.
Just thinking about those two scenes is making me hungry.

That massive plate of whole roasted chicken that Leeloo cooks up instantaneously in "The Fifth Element" in the microwave. "Chicken . . . good.", and it looked so yummy.

The hot, gravy-covered "lamb fries" (a.k.a. sheep balls) in "Funny Farm" actually look really good, if I pretend I don't know what they're supposed to be.

And I have yet to see "Tampopo" (shame! I know!), but I did see Brittany Murphy's "Ramen Girl", and dang, it made me want some authentic raamen sooo bad!

I'm not really a chocolate fan, but the cake that Bruce has to eat in Matilda looked so delicious.

The dinner scene in Clue, and especially the reference to it at the end of the movie:
"And monkey brains, while popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often found in Washington, D.C."
    "Is that what we ate?"

These are both fairly random choices, but after giving my movie selection a quick glance over I'm going to also name Under The Tuscan Sun and Signs; food doesn't play a very big part in either but was used a bit for specific purposes and I liked the way it was handled in both cases.

In Sun, the main character's cooking skills seem to go hand in hand with her growing confidence and it's cute, watching her make meals for the workers who are helping with the house. And in Signs, there's one scene that always struck me, where they're sitting down to have a meal that may be one for their last, and the father lets everyone pick what they want, sky's the limit; it's a really tense, powerful scene and the food isn't central to it, but it isn't minor either.

Call me crazy, but everytime I see the kids in the Harry Potter movies at mealtime, I really wish that I went to Hogwart's. Those magical meals look divine!

All the food in Marie Antioinette! Everything looked so colourful and artfully arranged and just plain delicious.
Also the imaginary feast in Hook!

I thought of another scene that only involved descriptions of delicate delights, but it still made my mouth water. In Stranger Than Fiction, when Miss Pascal is telling Harold about all the yummy baked goodies she made for her Harvard law study groups. Zesty peach icing? Yes, please.

Terrible movie, but: the cake scene in "The Truth About Cats and Dogs." (Which, as a bonus, introduced me to Suzanne Vega.)

@Susan B.: That scene was so erotic, wasn't it, even though the characters are completely clothed. And that song "Caramel" was so perfect for it. It's on my iPod right now.

@Hooplehead: I would add to that the pies in Waitress, a cute movie starring Keri Russell. It's not going to revolutionize cinema, but it was a nice piece of mind candy that included delicious looking pies and Captain Malcolm Reynolds.

Sleeping Beauty, where the two dads are singing and drinking and eating and the minstreal ends up sloshed under the table. I was always fascinated by cartoon meat, especially the legs of things.
