Thank you. I needed that coffee to irrigate my nose. I was feeling a bad congested this morning.

And I've noticed that all the things that come back from the 8o's (or any decade for that matter) are things that were very mainstream first time around, and yet when they come back it's for a slightly more alternative fahion-centric secter. Sorta interesting really. Does this mean the boot-cut indigo jeans and pointy heels of the early 00's will be tres hip and trendy in 20 years?? Imagine! All the hip alternative kids in 2025 wearing ugg boots and velour tracksuits and being made fun of by the popular kids. Time twister!
Even though, I know, it's all EVIL and WRONG and leggings are the DEVIL's WORK and shiny legging are EVEN WORSE and if you dress in anything other than simple, muted tones and shirt dresses you are a CRIME OF HUMANITY and should be killed and American Apparel and anyone who wears should be burnt to the ground.

I've had a few experiences in which something that did not fit or flatter me at all became the NEXT BIG THING OMG and I was hard-pressed to find anything else--I remember the last few years of attempting to buy cute casual dresses and almost every single one of them was an empire waist. No offense to those who love the empire waist, but it does not work for me at all, and it gets wearying when it's the only thing available.
Or remember when it was hard to find jeans that didn't have a stupidly low rise? That's probably why some of us fear the intensely-skinny, dramatically-tapered acidwash jean. It looked terrible on me the first time around, and it sure isn't going to look good twenty years later now that I'm a grownup with a butt. I hate it when fashion grabs on to ONE SINGLE TREND and doesn't let go of it for years.
If you're not naturally six feet tall and built like a moddle, and still you feel really fierce in 80s styling, with tapered legs or dramatic big tops or huge colorful hues, then you probably DO look really fierce and you probably rock the hell out of it. It's just that I always get uneasy when things like this (that a LOT of people disliked) come back with force. It makes me want to cling to my boring-ass bootcut jeans and fitted tops and wrap dresses in gothy tones for fear that I shall NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN OMG.

Also, I'm not even close to 6 feet tall -- I'm 5'2", but I can still rock the skinny jeans. I can't quite figure out why, but people always assume I am much taller than I actually am, until they get next to me. I have a freakishly long torso, too, so it's not that I am long and lean. I think good posture helps. But you don't have to be model-sized to work a skinny jean. I understand the hate for empire waist stuff, though. My friends who are more blessed in the chestular area than I am have had their issues with them.

So question #1 is McKey? It's not Mickey? Who did that? Parents? Producers?
