    I was so glad that this season ended with work front and center again. I think Mad Men draws it's true cohesion from the fact that it's a show about work and the fascinating dynamics that occur when human beings set off on a working endeavor together. As much as I'm totally absorbed by the personal relationships, I was truly thrilled with the launch of the new ad agency. I can't wait to see where that goes. Of course it wouldn't be nearly so exciting if it hadn't brought Joan back front and center!

    So, this is funny (to me) but I am doing this Cross pen giveaway thing and someone mentioned that Joan wears a pen around her neck. I never knew that was a pen, I thought it was a pendant!

    As for Joan's hubby, I just hope he never comes back. I don't like him.

    @Penny: Last year for Christmas I told my mom I wanted a gold pen on a chain like Joan's. She hadn't started watching Mad Men yet, and she gave me a plastic yellow pen on a ball chain from Claire's. Oops.

    As much as I despise Carrie Prejean and believe her tongue should be cut out, I kinda feel for that girl (or at least her mother) to be in the room when that was shown.     I do not understand the unlocked doors of the rich and famous. I probably have 1/419232938457923948234 of what they do and I am so paranoid about keeping the door locked. For me it is less about someone taking my stuff and more about the creep factor of someone walking among my stuff without me knowing, or watching me sleep, or freaky scary events like that. They must have security or something set up, though? I just don't get it. #britneyspears

    @Lola Lotus: I don't get that either. I have a friend who leaves her door unlocked when she leaves her place, and I've never understood that. She locks it when she's there for the night (though when I asked her she said she sometimes forgets). My friend claims that nothing bad has ever happened, and thinks I'm a little paranoid for worrying that a creeper could get in and hide in her closet and do something terrible to her when she comes home. *sigh* Maybe it's a weird way to flirt with danger or tell the world that you're a rebel? I don't know, but it's unsettling. *sigh* #britneyspears

    @scandalouskiki: i always think like this too - it bothers me that maintenence has access to keys to apartments at our development cause what if one comes in and hides and waits for us to go to bed?

    however i'm especially freaked out by the thought of someone hiding in my apartment and waiting until i was asleep to attack me because that actually happened to my cousin. i don't know all the details but i'm pretty sure a family friend raped her for years (threatening to kill her if she told) and would often break into her place and wait hours after she got home to attack her.

    my friends always tell me how paranoid i am but there are some sick people out there #britneyspears
