"Why isn't anyone talking about the charity work and all of the charitable organizations that Carrie's involved in?"
Why doesn't SHE start talking about her charitable work? Does she do any? Who the hell would know; all she's done is whine about being a victim. But she's got that down to a T.
Jesus, Kristen Stewart, I've defended you over and over again. Don't start with this women are from venus men are from mars anti-feminist ugly stereotyping.
See, I thought "innate female qualities" were things like the ability to breastfeed. I didn't realize being fickle was on that list - thanks for clearing that up, Kristen.
Shut up Kristen Stewart. The only innate female quality I can think of is having two X chromosomes. Being fickle isn't a female quality. Also I think you meant feminine, because quality does not have a gender.
Well, I hope that Twilight hasn't completely sucked (pun intended) Chris Weitz's will to make movies; I loved About a Boy, In Good Company, and even American Pie. I hope he's got a few more good ones in him.
I agree that Christian Bale is probably doing unhealthy methods for weight manipulation. the solution, obviously, is for him to come over my place, where I will closely monitor his sandwich intake and whenever necessary replace the calories with calorie-free fur burgers.
If Mark Wahlberg, who turned himself into a scarecrow for a two minute shot in the Sixth Sense, is worried about Christian, I think Christian should pay attention and maybe have a peanut butter sammich.
Paul Peterson of A Minor Consideration has always come off a bit "off" to me, if you know what I mean. He was a child star in the 60s and his money and his life were grievously mismanaged. Now he's on a mission to pretty much stop all use of children in entertainment. He thinks all parents of child stars are evil and are out to abuse their kids. I think it's obscene that a third party, *strangers*, can horn themselves into a family and tell them what to do with their kids. If the Sulman kids need rescuing, a govn't agency with trained social workers should be there making judgment calls, not a bunch of lawyers on a jihad.
@BytheSea: Hate myself for knowing this, but I'm pretty sure that was *Donnie* Wahlberg, of NKOTB and Mark-Wahlberg's-brother fame.
Apparently, he thought such intense committment to a bit role would secure his reputation as an actor, when it mostly secured his reputation for trying way too hard.
If Christian Bale is a method actor, I hate to think about what he did to himself to prepare for his role in The Machinist, in which he played an insomniac who weighed 100 pounds.
@fivebyfive: he weighed 120 pounds. He wanted to get down to 100 but the director wouldn't let him because they thought he would die. He was eventually eating only a bit of tuna fish and an apple a day, so at least there was no need for a doctor.
@fivebyfive: He went anorexic, basically. He talked in interviews about how hard it was for his wife at mealtimes when she was eating normally and he was picking at whatever tiny bit of food he was eating.
Anyone have any insight on why Shutter Island was moved to February? I saw the preview for it before 'Inglourious Basterds' yesterday and was excited to go see it, but was then shocked to see February as the released date at the end. With Scorsese and DiCaprio, it seems like such obvious Oscar bait, and February is where terrible movies go to die. So what gives? Is it bad? Production problems? Huh?
@pssshwhatever: Is Scorsese even capable of making a bad movie? I'm wondering.
Paramount is saying they don't have the money to mount an Oscar campaign for it right now, but wouldn't a film released in October with a very minimal Oscar campaign have a better chance than something released in February that the Academy has forgotten about by the time Oscar noms roll around 11 months later?
And I was awfully excited about this film. Scorsese? Ruffalo? Michelle Williams? I'm SO there.
It makes me extremely uncomfortable that so many details of Jasmine Fiore's muder are being publicized. I can only imagine what it must be like to lose a family member or friend and then be constantly confronted with all the gruesome details of her death.
@Rabbitty: If it helps catch him, then it is probably worth it. He won't be able to travel without someone recognizing him, and after hearing those details he will be lucky if he is not tracked down by an angry mob.

@MalinaMango: I've been hearing bad buzz about Shutter Island. It has a good looking trailer, but the actual movie is supposed to be pretty bad.
