    Homer should do Playgirl. And not campy, but seriously, as seductive as they can possibly make him.
    Wasn't there an episode where he did something like that?

    I haven't seen this episode but it seems like they showed that Marge was being exploited. The characters aren't perfect people, and situations aren't always fully resolved. It's part of why the show is great.

    But Lisa should have been given a long monologue somewhere in there. She would have had a LOT to say about this. #margesimpsoncalendar

    I unfortunately watched last night's episode. While there was a whole lot of Bart cringing about everyone ogling the calendar, Lisa was nowhere to be found.

    Seriously, how was her indignation totally absent? Lisa has often challenged the church congregation (and is a Buddhist) so community support would not drown her out.

    Anyway, I guess the focus was just on over-sexing cartoon characters I have come to love. #margesimpsoncalendar

    @Stagtasticfantastic: I read this great profile of Groening about fifteen years ago. The reporter was going on about the Simpsons' character names, saying something like, "Marge is the quintessential fifties housewife moniker, and Homer is, of course, an homage to the epic poet who fathered symbolic storytelling with archetypal characters."

    Groening very pleasantly responded, "Actually, my parents' names are Marge and Homer." Oh, that poor journalist. Probably lost their job even before the profession evaporated. #margesimpsoncalendar
