Bob Mackie & X-tina? this is gonna be a gooooood challenge. I wish Ra'mon were here for this! (if its not apparent, i had a little straight girl crush on Ra'mon) #projectrunwayseason6
@PaintedTrollop: poor judging was a problem, but I think lack of inspiring challenges has been the bigger issue. To many - here's a check, go to Mood get some fabric and make a pretty dress for (a model, a pregnant lady, an actress) hopefully the Sultan of Sequins will change this tonight #projectrunwayseason6
I... I love her. I always have. There, I said it. I loved her from "Genie in a Bottle" through the Lady Marmalade times to "Fighter" and right on through to now. Whew. It feels good to get that off of my chest.
@Bgirl_Hamster: Oh, I can't believe I left it out! Jeebus, when that comes on in my car I'm sure other people on the road think I'm having a fit. Like, I pound my own chest.
@Cher_Horowitz: I love her, too. And always have. Even when I wish she'd dial back on the make-up (hello, Day-Glo lipstick up there!), I still love her. I get such a feminist vibe from her: from "Can't Hold Us Down," to her Eminem dis, to her AMAZING cover of James Brown's "A Man's World" at the Grammys, to her honesty about her father's abuse -- she kicks ass, takes names, and can sing like she sold her soul. She comes across as so smart and in charge of her career in interviews, too.
Also! She's changed my life! In a small way: I read an interview years ago in which she said she doesn't believe there's any such thing as a fashion faux pas, because it's all for fun anyway. That has totally stuck with me. Sometimes when I'm getting dressed in the morning, I'll think to myself "Is this necklace a bit much?" And then I'll think of that quote and be all, "Fuck it. It's all for fun anyway. Who cares if it's a bit much?"
I don't like the idea of the models being documented. There are already a million shows, that show drama of "beautiful" people. Too lame. I will watch, but I won't like it. :)
But, Yay for the return of PRW!!! Even if it i on Lifetime....
I'm marking my calendar for this. Please tell me you're live blogging it. I call front row center. By the way, I'm working on a line of coke pants. Wait. Those aren't my pants!
Who do I have to fuck to get on the guest list? Do you know who I am?
I'm so excited runway is back on, but don't like the Lifetimization that the promos have been getting. They're making it all inspiration reality tv instead of the fun Tim Gunn show.
TIM! Tim Gunn is the voice of the angel on my shoulder. Whenever I'm about to do something questionable, a little Tim Gunn appears on my shoulder and goes: "I'm concerned."
@midwestdesigner: Yeah, I'm so looking forward to hearing what they think about each designer! I wonder what that young brunette model (Melissa, was it?) REALLY thought about Wendy Pepper. Ha!
@JennaW: I loved the crazy meltdown model from S1, and I thought it added a lot to the show. I was very disappointed that in later seasons, they treated the models like coat hangers and didn't follow their journeys at all. How many times did a model not show up for some reason, and they just let it go as "she was late" with no follow up? (See: Austin Scarlett models!)
Holy crap, you guys, when Tim Gunn said "She is a five-time Grammy winning artist" I thought they were still talking about Lindsay Lohan and for second I tried to remember when I lapsed into a coma or was abducted alienly.
@Mmmmkay (gellin' and Jezebelin): Yeah every time I see LL lately I just feel like she's on cocaine! Don't want to hate on the girl especially if she does have a drug problem, but if it looks like a duck....
@wendimuse: Not gonna lie i am a little sad Tyra isn't somehow a judge/host. And the Lifetime voiceover guy....do not want! I already miss Bravo's agressive-gossip-man voice.
@ImmacolataPlover: Okay, now I officially have to hook up another tv, because BF Punk Rocker is not going to watch this with me, and there is NO WAY I am not watching this. I've waited too damn long for the show to come back on. I've really missed Tim Gunn. ::sniffle::
@sybann: Yea Tim! Isaac and Kelly on The Fashion Show are nothing but bitchy little critics who squinch up their faces when discussing the the designers and read their lines like marionettes. It's soooo much fun when the full judging panel or the runway guests endorse what Isaac and Kelly have condemned.
@sybann: Ahh Tim Gunn. What I wouldn't give to shrink him and keep him in my purse. He could give me helpful fashion tips and say things like 'I'm sorry, but I'm just having a visceral reaction to those leggings' and give me looks of horror regarding my closet organization skills and we could snark on celebrity outfits together....that's my idea of heaven.

She has come a long way, and managed to be normal in a world of Britney and Lindsay's.
