    i think all the disney kids date each other because they see those kids more than anyone else in the bubbleworld of disney. it's not like these kids are going to date a key grip or something.

    Don't forget, a lot of these kids are also promoted as each others best friends as well (Demi and Selena especially). As far as Disney is concerned, they don't have lives away from the company.

    And frankly, the promotion works. As a young MMC watcher I was fascinated by Kerri Russell and Tony Whats-his-face's relationship and it made me more interested in the show.

    As with all make-believe worlds, pseudo-incestuous relationships work best because both parties are pre-approved, with built-in fan base--just check out Hogwarts for proof of this "finding your soulmate in your best friend('s sister)" phenomenon.

    Not that I don't fall for it as much as the next person. Step off, Harry+Ginny haters!

    Cinderella and the Prince? Beauty and the Beast? PUH-leeze! Disney has been promoting these "arranged" matches since what must be the Dark Ages (Sleeping Beauty anyone?). They can hardly be anything other than promotional! Just like Gerard and Jen! What do you mean they're not seeing each other. STFU!

    The drama surrounding these stars is the exact same drama that went on at my high school. It's just a more publicized version of "OMG, did you hear that Susie is dating Jeff??!?! He used to date Kelly! And now Kelly and Susie aren't talking to each other, even though they're on the soccer team together!!"
