Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Have you heard about the "Mad Men Revue?" And yes, it's about as odd as it sounds: a cabaret act featuring early 60's music performed by supporting cast from the cult AMC drama. So far, it's only played L.A., but Lionsgate is working on a plan to book more dates in Vegas, New York and maybe overseas. The original act featured Bryan Batt, Robert Morse (the original How To Succeed in Business... star, after all!), Colin Hanks, Patrick Fischler and Maggie Siff doing numbers "that ranged from early Dylan to pop and jazz standards," conducted by Mad Men's composer. Word is, more of the cast is interested in joining up: we're obviously crossing our fingers for Joan channeling Peggy Lee. [Variety]

Eye Candy: The Hottest Pictures From GQ's "Men Of The Year" Issue
Looky here! Jon Hamm on the cover of GQ. Actually, there are a few different covers, including one with Barack Obama… So many men, so little time! Inside the magazine? Lots and lots of dapper dudes, plenty of sweet, sweet man candy. Although many "Men Of The Year" were accomplished gentlemen who deserve applause, we skipped luminaries like General David Petraeus and Senator Edward Kennedy. Instead, you'll find pictures of Barack Obama, James Franco, Michael Phelps, Leonardo DiCaprio and, yes, Jon Hamm, after the jump. Hold on to your ovaries!

Mad Mens
Heard about the Mad Men fans Tweeting as the show's characters? Well, seems the one who started it all, @don_draper, is in fact blogger Paul Isakson. According to Isakson, the thing began "as a research project of sorts," he admits that he got far more involved in this virtual world than he'd ever anticipated. He apologizes for making "a handful of people a little unhappy" and says he's handing the virtual Don over to AMC. While Isakson might be accused of inadvertently creating a monster, we don't even know what to say about the parents of this Baby Draper. [Paul Isakson via New York Times, Videogum]

Style.com has a behind the scenes look at Jon Hamm's photoshoot in the December issue of Vogue. We want to get a look behind his scenes! Or something! But seriously: the Mad Men star is so sweet and humble and excited about his newfound fame in this video it's adorable. Also of note, Hamm describes the model who posed with him for Vogue as "So much younger than me it's terrifying." He dates Jennifer Westfeldt, the Kissing Jessica Stein star who is actually his own age. It's nice to see a ridiculously good looking star date another grown up. That is all. • The Montecito, CA homes of Oprah and Rob Lowe have been spared from the wild fires damaging the area. Oprah is currently in Chicago, however Lowe's family had to be evacuated. • Kanye West was arrested again for assaulting a paparazzo in London. The photographer suffered a cut face and bruising. Mad Men-Era Video Is Modern, Mesmerizing
A reader sent us this clip, called, simply, 1958. She writes: "As far as I can tell it's about the wonders of the modern age: time-saving appliances and machines for work and home. I was mesmerized by it. And not in an ironic way. I love all the mid-century design and the clean and orderly world it lives in here. It's neat-o. Something about the hopefulness and cheeriness just resonates with me today." She's right: You'll be hypnotized by the joyous, upbeat music and the shiny, colorful household items: A blue floorsweeper! A shimmering silver toaster! A bright orange plastic pitcher! Even if you shirk all domestic duties, you'll find this video oddly soothing and refreshing. Clip at left.

The set design in Mad Men is just as compelling for some of us as the characters and the storyline. Mad Men decorator Amy Wells gave Entertainment Weekly a tour of Don Draper's office, and even tells readers where to purchase some of the items like his couch, chair and pencil sharpener. [EW]

On Sunday, November 2, is the The Simpsons 19th "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween episode. This year, the show will have a Mad Men spoof in a segment called "How to Get Ahead in Dead-Vertising"…and it leaked! It looks like they've only spoofed the opening credits of Mad Men, but they did a damn near perfect job. (Click image to view video.) [NY Mag, via Videogum]
