I read the Vogue piece but I wasn't hooked. I think she probably had some wonderful adventures but just can't capture them in writing.
Maybe there will be a movie...

So, her bid for attention is predicated on pimping out her relationships to famous people? Ew.

I read her article in this month's Vogue. Great stuff, especially how awesomely insane Ryan O'Neill and Jack Nicholson seemed to be.

The Jack Nicholson? I read he believed his mom was his sister for a really long time, his parents as his grandparents and that he never knew his dad. Hmm...

@nutellagirl (nigeriangirl): Yreah, I think part of that is right...that his mother had him very young (like 15ish) and he was raised by his grandparents with his mother as his older sister.

That actually sounds pretty badass, in theory. I have to say though, having such an upbringing as this would be a bit much for me. I'm glad mine was boring. I'm weird enough as it is.

@ihateyourescalade: A lot of non-celebrities have written compelling memoirs. Or are you irritated that she's related to celebrities and might be trying to cash in on that? Either way, it might be a good idea to reserve judgment until you've read the book.

@ihateyourescalade: Meritless cos she isn't famous? Sounds like she has some potentially excellent stories for a book. I just finished Marsha Brady's autobio, looks like this one is next! Sordid exposes re: the 1960's/70's FTW!

Eh. My mom posed for Budweiser calendars, my dad was a hobo, my secret dad was a North Carolina politician and a once lived in a cardboard box with my pregnant 13-year-old cousin. Suck it, Allegra.

@Annabellie: I had that fantasy all the time growing up. Usually, it was either Dr Doolittle or Pa Ingalls. My grasp on reality was perhaps lacking.

@Jello Mix inspired Little Chocolate Donuts, No. 5: Now I am trying to think up a list of fictional characters that I would want to be my secret biological father. The dad from Little Women was pretty good, because he let his girls do their own thing without pressuring them to be more feminine. Pa Ingalls was awesome. Also, my 12th grade English teacher, who obviously wasn't fictional, but still.
