    @bthny: I slept through my alarm and got to class late today because of last night's city-wide party. My professor didn't seem to care, thank goodness.

    I wore heeled boots to the Fieldhouse, stood throughout the game, and then marched down Broad. My feet are killing me. But it's not as bad as my roommate's situation, she body surfed in the crowd and someone stole one of her red and white shoes. And then she stepped in glass. Ick. #philadelphiaphillies

    It would be amazing if the Phillies won again this year. Up until last year Philadelphia had a black hole where championships should/could/would have been. I live in Philly and the excitement and gratitude that their team might make it again is palpable. While there may be a few asshole fans who come out of the woodwork, I can assure you that Phillies fans are tried and true. Oh, and the Yankees can suck it. Go Phills!!!!! #philadelphiaphillies

    It's so exciting to be in Philly right now. Honestly, who can't appreciate the fact that we didn't win championships for DECADES and then boom - in the World Series 2 years in a row!!?

    Our fans are dedicated, smart and passionate. They deserve this!

    I'm terrified that if Philly wins the World Series 2 years in a row there's going to be a whole new crop of ubiquitous, obnoxious fans, like how they all came out of the woodwork in 2004 when the Red Sox won and THEN the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

    So I'm a Yankees fan and I know this reeks of "pot, meet kettle," but I'm trying to save the world from more obnoxious fans. #philadelphiaphillies

    @pantsless economist...access RESTORED: Red Sox fans were annoying before 2004, they just got MUCH WORSE after. They went from being self-pitying pessimists to being obnoxious braggarts who immediately revert to being self-pitying pessimists the second anything goes wrong. Charming. #philadelphiaphillies

    @pantsless economist...access RESTORED: Those Boston fans didn't come out of the woodwork - they either spontaneiously generated or are evil mutants of other cities' fans jumping on the bandwagon.

    I'm hoping they go back from whatever hell dimension they came from now that the Sox lost and the Pats are looking a little meh. #philadelphiaphillies

    @Maritsa: oh, the band wagon nation stuff is in full effect between the red sox and the yankees. yankees fans are pretty bad - you have to work hard to find a nice one who actually cares about BASEBALL, not just bleeds pinstripes.

    boston sports fans are just obnoxious. between the pats, the celtics, and the sox, enough already. to be fair, i also root for no new york sports franchise. ever. it's against my religion. #philadelphiaphillies

    @pantsless economist...access RESTORED: Eh, I've loved the Phillies since I was in elementary school in central PA and I love them now that I am at grad school in Philadelphia. So do my classmates who never lived here or rooted for them before (especially the two from Taiwan)... this team is just so likeable! I say, why deny people their fun? #philadelphiaphillies
