I was going to post a quote about how tortoises make low maintenance pets because you can just feed them a leaf and then you don't see them again for 20 years, but I can't remember who said it, and I can't find it, so I will just claim it as my own.

@save jinger: I had a pet tortoise, and he disappeared one day while we were out chilling on the lawn. We actually thought someone had stolen him, but discovered that wasn't the case about 4 years later, when the dude who'd come to cut the grass ran him over with a lawnmower (a push lawnmower, not even one of the ones you ride) and killed him.

Wow, that was a nice cheerful story.

As a crazy bird lady, this picture makes me squeal and nom. Baby birds are so obvious in their dinosaurity (shut up that's a word ok), I just want to cuddle them and then let them wreak havoc on a private island somewhere.
