It sort of makes sense, if you replace "are still waiting for their first girls' night out on the town" with "are still waiting to be treated like human adults with individual interests and lives who just happen to work together at times"
And when they do, all the men will have a Guys' Night and bring over cases of beer and play poker and smoke cigars and Rahm will inevitably have secretly ordered a stripper and the next thing you know, Michelle's calling Barack just to check in on things and he has to make an excuse for why it sounds like Joe Biden is yelling "Lap dance, baby!" in the background ("No, that's just the TV! It's a new show called Tap Dance Baby!"), and then she'll announce she's coming home early and Barack will have to shoo everyone out of the House and clear out all the cigar smoke. But Michelle will catch wise when she finds a poker chip under a couch cushion. "Barrraaaack is there something you want to tell me???"
But! There were only four characters on Sex and the City?!?!?! How are they going to have a night on the town, are there going to be two Samanthas, two Mirandas and two Charlottes?!?! Does not compute!!
@AthertonMerriweather: You'd think that as patriotic Americans they'd think of the tube-top economy. Step up, ladies. Those Lemon Drops aren't going to buy themselves.
@angelheadedhipster: Oh man, you're right. So this is more the L Word than Sex & the City? Women must all conform to behavior from a TV show, or my lady brain gets confused.
Okay, while pondering how to express my thoughts on this, an image of "Puke In My Mouth" featuring the lovely women and also Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, and Dick Cheney popped into my head and I pictured Dick Cheney's inner thigh perm, so I'm going to go lie down before I fall down from the vapors.
@beastybeatsy: I hate the term "girl" applied to grown independent women. I also find it offensive when they use their first name like "Hillary attended meetings in the Middle East" hey! she's not your friend, she's Ms Clinton, show some respect. I read once that women in media are sometimes portrayed as children, so it makes sense if they use their first name. AGH!
