And may I ask: was Jade Goody ever popular? I only know of her because (this was years ago) she was always in Heat or one of those mags in the "worst dressed" list and I finally had to ask a friend who the hell she was. After that, it was the Shilpa Shetty thing. I mean, did people actually like her or did the press just love making fun of her?

@mllej: At one time Jade Goody was extraordinarily popular with the British tabloid press. Having her on the cover was guaranteed to shift copies. Her perfumes, exercise DvDs and autobiographies were all best sellers. It went pearshaped when she was accused of a racist outburst against a Bollywood fellow contestant. The media turned against her with the same ferocity they had once displayed towards her early in her t.v career. Now even the broadsheets are singing her praises. Clinics have seen the rate of women having smear tests go up by 21% as a result of the Goody factor. Highly educated career women have admitted they have only had the smear done recently as a direct result of the media satuation of Jade's plight.

@lez lemon: Actually I was being sarcastic, mostly because there had been one too many people who wanted to go to the mattresses for Ms. Aniston earlier on in the evening which led to a lot of really irrelevant nonsense (which I unfortunately played a role). It is safe to say that I am not a fan of hers. However, I am developing sympathy for because there seem to be a lot of folks out there who seem determined to keep her a victim. Whether she wants to or not. Any mention of JA is met with a chorus of 'poor Jen' and anyone not willing to give a quart of blood is attacked. Like I said, I've never been a fan (hated Friends, never got the hair thing and I don't like chick flicks) but it must be hell to have so many people determined to keep you stuck in one place.

Well, that's a lot of words to say that I agree with you. For God's sake, let it go.

I am so tired of the tabloids running Jennifer Aniston into the ground and putting Angie and Brad up on some kind of pedastal of greatness. I'm not an Aniston groupie or anything, but she seems nice enough, cute enough, talented enough - and yet the media constantly portrays her as being this sad, cheated-on, broken-hearted, pathetic loser who can't stop pining after Brad and who hates Angelina's guts with all of her soul...

It really does her a disservice that she can't seem to do anything (make a movie, present a damn award, give an interview) without it somehow being tied into Brangelina. As if it isn't bad enough that she DID get done wrong all those years ago, she has to live with the aftermath of the whole situation every time she steps outside her door! If I was her I would've collapsed crying in a corner by now.

And BTW, why would Evan Rachel Wood care if Mickey Rourke won the Oscar? Last I read she was all po'd at him for 'disrespecting' her in some way (never did find out what he supposedly did). And if it's true that she's dating Manson again, all I have to say is YICK.

I'm not sure about the Vogue interview in question, but I guess after however many years of being asked, answering a question now and then is forgivable. Regardless of whetehr she says anything or not, it's going to get written about, and Angelina is very forward when it comes to speaking on how she and Brad met/fell in love.

I don't think it's what her nose shows that's damning about the Lindsay picture -- it's that lip purse that she's doing. I know that lip purse. It's a little overdone, a little overblown, and that's because you take the rest of the coke and rub it into your gums, and your gums and lips go numb. And it makes you make that face.

@Vivelafat is the Quizat Haderach: When my Dad had a pool, I would put an air mattress in it and take naps while I float around. And it was big enough that I could bring books and stuff with me and I didn't have to worry about them falling in the water.

It was all kinds of awesome.

OMG guys I have it on good authority that Angelina and Jennifer passed each other in the bathroom. Angelina was coming out, Jen was coming in, and OMG DRAMA! Then Jen cried for a half-hour, the sound of the hand dryer muffling her tears.

God, I am so sick of this. Can Obama sign a bill forbidding the tabloids from ever covering this whole "triangle" again?
