    This is a self-feeding loop. The only cure is to stay in Wassilla (or Anytown, USA), get a decent job (electrician, mechanic, gym teacher), STFU, and live a basic life. Nature abhors a vacuum, you will be forgotten, and the next idiot will take your place in about three weeks.

    @bluebears: I find nothing about him redeeming. That picture up there gives me involuntary lip curl and makes me think about how greasy his hair must be. Or how bad he smells. Or republicanism. Or how bad the sex with "sometimes condoms" is. Or the lack of conversation outside of "so that hockey game..."

    I would like to think that the whole idea of celebrating fame for fame's sake is running out of steam. In the UK for example, there has been a sharp decline in sales for publications like Heat and the reality show Big Brother, which made a global star of the late Jade Goody, has seen its viewing audience dwindle year after year.

    @CherriSpryte: My theory is people seek recognition but confuse that w/ fame. Recognition is different, like getting a study published, being known for making a kick-ass cheesecake. But people confuse the people around you acknowledging your strengths w/ the whole world knowing who you are.

    Awww jeez. Anna Nicole Smith's daughter (I have no idea what her name is) looks just like her and is freaking adorable. It's so sad. I feel so bad for these kids with famous parents, especially when one dies...I'm surprised Frances Bean Cobain doesn't have her own reality TV show yet.

    @ritualtheory: now available on vinyl: In my fantasies, Kim Gordon calls FB a couple times a week to check in and give her motherly advice. FB gets under the covers and whispers so mom doesn't know she's on the phone. Kim invites her to tag along to summer camp in Maine with Coco and they all stop for Round Top ice cream on the way up there. FB just mushes up some clothes under her comforter, hacks off a chunk of hair and leaves it on the pillow peeking out, and Courtney doesn't even know she's gone.
