My friend called in tears earlier. Her Great Dane Zeus passed away, asleep on the foot of her bed in the night. I wish I could help her...Hug your puppehs, ladies. Life is short, and dogs are pretty much the best part of it.
@Mrs. DeLesseps To You, Dahling: I just got woken up by kisses from my pup, so I know what you're saying. They're honestly the best. My thoughts are with your friend and zeus.
@hfree: my cat is currently doing laps around herself trying to chase her tail. it's so damn cute i wish that i had a videocamera to record and post it to youtube.
::: sob ::: Our poor totally deaf, 80% blind dog is lost (got out of our backyard on Xmas eve, sobbbb again) and I knew better than to look at snoozing puppehs, but couldn't help it.
Or, this is a naked cry for sympathy and prayers (to any deity you might feel like beseeching, we're not picky about our deities or above begging for various "good thoughts" around here) that Stu-dog, the sad Westie, comes home.
But can this sleeping Corgi video provide the viewer with incredibly potent gas smells, like my adorable sleeping Boston Terrier pup can? I think not! Oh wait, that's probably a plus for the video...
Speaking of cute animals that act silly and adorable and are beloved by Jezebel, is it okay for me to post my fan-art of Winston that I drew yesterday? I had nothing better to do.
@tscheese: very well done and so cute! he looks like he's contemplating meowing about something he wants that he can't have. you should send it to rich.
this video would be adorable anyway, but the way they covered up the pup and made it a bed made me melt. this from someone who has improvised cat "beds" all over the apartment.
@whats_in_a_name: Ours is actually "Eros Indiscreet". Indy sounds ever so much better. Fortunately it was his kennel name anyway, so that is what he responded to.
As for dear Gretchen? Gretchen is her kennel name and her real one is "Hula Gal".
Greyhounds get some of the worst registered names ever.
@Gretchen: growing up the only animals we had were the ones that adopted us, which living in the middle of no where about 1/2 mile from the county animal shelter was quite a few. people who didn't have the guts to admit to the shelter that they just didn't want their animal anymore for whatever reason would just dump them out in the country, most of the ones that found us we'd end up taking to the shelter but if the shelter was getting close to full sometimes we'd end up keeping them.
@whats_in_a_name: That is our cat population. Here in the backwater where we live, people tend to shoot them or dump them rather than take them to the shelter. They treat cats little better than vermin. So we have 9, which is our max.
Your family was good to take in all those little furries!
