I always love reading an article which helps to perpetuate the stereotype of women being whiny gold diggers and then men who hate/love them. it is like the BS on every prime time show where some female characters declares how since she was a little girl, she dreamed of getting married. This story actually made me feel kinda sad for everyone involved: the women who must on some level feel they don't have any real options for independence, and the men who must on some level feel pretty alienated by their lives (seems to me living abroad ought to be a fulfilling experience, not a soulless routine of overwork and picking up gold-diggers at boring bars).

The desire to be a kept woman when you have other options is mystifying to me. An insecure guy who goes into investment banking to buy pussy instead of relying on his personality, looks, wit is something I can wrap my head around a little easier.
