    True story: some friends of mine were paid by the movie to vacate their apartment for several days last summer while Johnny Depp and company used it to film scenes for this.

    is anyone else like madly, insanely excited to see this movie? every time i see the trailer or a tv commericial, i am just totally overwhelmed by the AWESOME that this is going to be.

    @this_mad_woman: I've been excited about this movie since I heard about it last summer!

    Parts of the movie were filmed less than an hour away from my grandma's house in Wisconsin, in the actual location where Dillinger was hunted down and killed (a lake resort called Little Bohemia). It's refreshing that a movie was shot in the actual locations where the events took place, rather than on some remote lot in Canada. It's even more refreshing that I've been to the same places as Johnny Depp, so I can see him running down the beach and think 'I've swam there!'

    I always make it a point NOT to talk in Farsi when I'm out.

    It makes people around uncomfortable, as they assume that you are talking about them. even when a friend says something to me in farsi, I answer her in English, so the people around know, we are not talking about them/making fun of them.

    @lavenderstain: I agree that it's rude to speak another language if there are people in your conversation/group who don't speak it - but not just out on the street or at a cafe. Where I grew up in Toronto, you could go one block from my house and hear conversations in english, korean, portuguese, farsi, or any one of 20 other languages. It's kind of nice.
