Well, Marvel, I had whipped out my wallet and was ready to spend until I saw that your products don't have any superheroines on them! No Elektra lipstick? Wallet goes back into my purse, which would be more fun if the She-Hulk was plastered on it. I'm just saying!
We call my daughter "[daughter's name] Warrior Princess," because she is some pretty fierce royalty, I'll tell you what.
Were she to go about her warrior-princess duties dressed in this Thierry Mugler outfit, I would worry about her effectiveness. And, given those heels, her ankle safety.
I've been around a bit, but not as much as I was for awhile there. I believe I'm trying to find a balance between enjoying Jezebel, and actually accomplishing the work before me. Not always an easy balance to find...!
I know I bring this up all the time, but today it's actually relevant, my favorite menswear line (Brooks Brothers Black Fleece) is actually mentioned! So, without further ado:
Oh, Thierry, I commend you. Every warrior wants to wear a gold bow/hunk of ratty fabric hanging from her ass. Or is that part of the outfit for the woman?
If this outfit is supposed to channel women warriors then it either missed the mark or I'm some kind of genderless whimpering coward with no imagination.
And does that thing include a single silver robot-like glove? I think that's been done before sweetheart, but in sequins....

question, is TopShop considered a high end store? whenever I click over to their website everything seem ridiculously expensive. is it like Neimen Marcus or something?
@bluebears: I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, 50 pounds for a dress (normal-ish at topshop) isn't considered expensive or high end. It's more expensive that h&m but usually at par with or cheaper than zara etc in my experience. I don't think people here (in england) consider topshop high end by any means. for example, if a mid prices dress at TopShop is %0pounds, a 'mid range' dress at Harvey Nicks (equivalent to Neimans I think) would be for several hundred pounds!
@Rummy_McGin: you can consider it whatever you like. im just saying TopShop isnt marketed as high end and is not, in fact, comparative in cost to brands/shops that ARE marketed as and widely considered to be high end.
Why, oh why, can't the TopShop van come to Chicago?? We're the overlooked city people, the "ugly stepsister" if you will. The polarized land of extreme weather, Obama and Blagojevich, Oprah AND Jerry Springer! I'm sure we have nearly as many hipsters as NYC and I GUARANTEE we have more violent crime and gangster lore. We're a condidate to host the 2012 Olympics for pete's sake.
What else can we possibly do to get a little TopShop here? To quote the inimitable Black-Eyed Peas, "Where is the love?"

My god. Suddenly, it no longer pays to be a nerd or geek. Time for me to shuck my pocket-protector, thick-framed-glases-with-taped-bridge, and white dress shirt for khakis, docksiders, and contacts. Anyone want to buy a Marvel comic book collection, cheap?
"The duality between being a woman and a warrior" call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure both warriors and women prefer to wear pants. Now I know we have some exceptions (Lady Gaga, Wonderwoman) but the vast majority of women, warriors and women-warriors would like to have a nice pair of pants to wear, preferably attractive and comfortable, or at the very least less 80's in design. It cannot be that hard, I refuse to believe it.
@Fate'sBitch: Says you. Personally, I go to corporate war in the military-industrial complex daily wearing a glittery metallic oneside, no pants, and brandishing a sword-shaped, bedazzled Crackberry.

This is as good a time as any to propose a NYC Jezzie Meet-up. I suggest we go for a drink and cap off the evening with a van hijacking.
