I can't watch this show. Most people who feel this way usually hate Larry David. I think Larry is great, but everyone's reactions to him blow my mind. (Am I a sociopath?) La Comtesse de Terrified of Confrontation (shocking, I know) gets physically uncomfortable watching it.
@LaComtesse: I know what you mean. I have yet to watch any episode from this season except the reunion preview because I have to psych myself up to watch him be an unmitigatedly self-absorbed ass to everyone around him (Cheryl is a saint for staying with him as long as she did).
I alternately love Larry and want to smack him upside the head.
@LaComtesse: I get physically uncomfortable when people are in awkward situations in movies and television programs. So much so that I have to leave the room. This is why I can't watch this show, began to hate Seinfeld, and never watch any of the Borat/Bruno/Ali G programs. *shudders*
@willwriteforfood: That's another one. I could never watch the American Office, and I absolutely avoided the British original for all of that excruciating awkwardness, made all the worse by characters so desperate to be liked.
@LaComtesse: I have felt like this for years. I blame Seinfeld for developing a large part of psyche, because I generally find Larry's actions correct and would feel the same way when forced to have chit chat or look away when someone has wronged me. I think its sort of adorable that this imposed system of manners and niceties are lost on him.
@Triphena: Yes! It was terribly sad. But he also made me really angry by keeping in contact with the UCLA girl. Did he not think Jamie would ask him about her, ever??
@ElleL: I assumed he got back in touch with her after he was told to date other people. I mean, you can't be like, see other people...except ones who have expressed interest in you.
if i wanted to see this bunch again, i'd get the DVD of seinfeld. thanks, larry--you've helped me create a little space on an otherwise crowded sunday night lineup. i'll tune back in when this blows over.
@beatrice2000: No, he's definitely based on Larry. It's a running joke on "Curb" that Larry thinks George is great while Jason Alexander (and everyone else) thinks the character's a total jerk.
ERW does know that she is not actually Sophie-Anne right? Or Ditta. . .or Marilyn. . .The being said, I f-ing love that dress and it needs to be in my closet right now.
Michelle Forbes has the dowdyest shoes I've seen today, and I've seen lots of shoes today. I would say that my grandma would have loved them, but I have immense respect for my grandmother; may she rest in peace.

The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.

Also, my mother loves this show but she always calls it "Hold Your Applause" which I enjoy way too much to correct her.
