@Bob Wiley: Right. Your lawyer should certainly advise you on how you should plea, but it would be legal malpractice to not "let" you plead the way you want.
I love Liev Schreiber so much. So much! He's just such a talent actress. He was the only good thing (besides Bill Murray) in that abomination starring Ethan Hawke as Hamlet.
@Cimorene: I know!! He's just so frackin' talented/cute/mature, it's ridiculous. He was on "Wait Wait Don't tell me" Recently, and there was squeeing, there really was. Oh, Naomi Watts, if you ever get tired of him and of looking totally adorable/happy together, send him my way, could you?
@Maritsa: I would take Jon's Ed Hardy-coated lies as a means to an end. I can't imagine having to sort out your parents' divorce on national television.
@Maritsa: I agree, if this is really true, then you're right, something needs to be done. But I somehow find it hard to believe all 8 really doing this. 6 5-year olds? It seems implausible. If anything, I would imagine that the older girls somehow convinced the little kids to do it.
Or Jon could just be saying it to get out of his contract so he could do the stupid Michael Lohan show.
@noodleashy143: Yeah, anyone who's ever had to try to organize 6 5 year olds - to do anything has got to have doubts about this story. I mean, did Hannah get up on the table with a UNION sign like in "Norma Rae?"
@Maritsa: Kids may refuse to comply when it comes to working with adults, but can be very united when it comes to each other. It could be very common for one child to follow what the other is doing (i.e. One child crying for no reason when another starts crying) And when kids are upset they can very easily refuse anything that's requested of them for the next couple of minutes. Therefore, in theory, it could just take one upset kid being asked to "calm down" or something along those lines "for the cameras" to say "I don't want to on camera!" (or any child-like speech equivalent) for the others to say the same thing in support of their sibling. Brother/sister bonds tend to be quite strong in children. Especially ones that shared a womb/embryos.
@PrincessOfPower: I don't think she has said anything at all about it. She has kept a very low profile. I would also think that in any interviews she gives there would be a very distinct "no questions" clause about it. It's a shame because I would love for her to just come out and say that he did it.
@Lady Skittlehattington: WHOA what a cast, what movie is this??? madeline kahn died the day before my 11th birthday party and i definitely wept at the karaoke place we rented.
Jon and Kate's plus 8 — the children — staged a rebellion, refusing to be videotaped for the show. "The kids staged a sit-in — a revolt," Jon tells Life & Style. "They didn't want to work.
Good on them, but I am a little depressed that not only are they more organized than I was at their age(s), but they are more organized than I am now. Well played, young Gosselins. Well played indeed.
@lilbobbytables is a la-di-da feminist: They sat in the kitchen and held up signs drawn with crayons saying "Hell No We Won't Go"-Now THAT is organization!
I know we've been over this a million times, but I cannot see a photo of either CB or Rihanna and not see what he did to her. I just fucking hate that guy so much. I see his stupid smiling face and then I see her face all covered in welts and bruises and I just want to run him over with my truck. Sorry but I just had to get that off my chest.
@cuteasabutton: I'm certainly not one to side with perpetrators, but I'm very happy he's depressed. And wanted to plead guilty, and most of all that he feels ashamed. It shows that he actually understands that what he did was unacceptable. So many abusers just explain their violence away ("oh she slapped me first, she deserved it; oh, she makes me so mad, I couldn't stop myself; oh it wasn't that bad and it was only that one time that it got really out of control; oh I'll never do it again"). It's good--heartening--to know that he actually wants to go to DV counseling. I hope he does, and I hope he learns from his crime, and I hope he never, ever, ever does it again, and especially that he can help other men learn how serious this crime is.
@Ailatan: Actually that quote wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. When I read "it was exhilaratingly humiliating" I thought for certain it was because he thought for a man wearing a dress is embarrassing, but it sounds like he just noticed his flaws while wearing the dress.
Does LL think that it wasn't a robbery because electronics weren't stolen? Someone needs to retake Sociology 101. That's where I learned the difference between a robbery and burglary.
@LucyRed: From what I understand, it was a burglary and she wasn't at home when her stuff was stolen. Robbery involves force or violence. She's saying that even though no one attacked her and even though nothing so expensive was taken, she feels violated.
@LucyRed: Penal Code- You don't burglarize people and you don't rob houses. You burglarize a house, a robbery occurs if people are present and there is force, violence, or threat of violence. LL's case was not a robbery.
Everything in our movie, it's such a heightened version of reality. People don't just break up [in the films] – they break up and it literally kills you. It's not like you just say, 'Oh, I'm really depressed and crying.' I always had a really hard time figuring out, 'Am I doing enough? Do I look like I'm going to die?' My favorite line in the book is when I have to say to [Jacob], 'It's him; it's always been him!' Yeah, it killed me. It killed me."
Kristen then went on to say, "I mean it was just so stupid. I thought I'd die of embarrassment. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was written by a twelve year old! Why did I even agree to do this?"

But given that it comes from "Lies lies lies" Jon, who wants to quit the show to have his OWN show - I'm going to say it's probably not true.
