A baby kangaroo named Tijana being fed from a bottle by a zoo keeper in Belgrade Zoo, Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Her mother, after being scared by an emu, a large Australian bird, ran away and 6-month-old Tijana fell out from the pouch. Now, the big-eyed baby kangaroo, which normally would feed on her mother's milk inside the pouch, is being fed in an incubator with special milk donated by Australia, the United States and Germany. The zoo keepers said Tijana will be fed from a bottle for the next couple of months before getting such food as rice and bananas. (AP Photo/Srdjan Ilic)

<![CDATA[Double Trouble For Chinese Panther]]>

Photo released January 15, 2009, by the French Museum of Natural History shows a female Chinese Panther with her two cubs, born on November 30, 2008, at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. A rare species, there exists around 2500 Chinese Panthers in the wild. News of the arrival of two cubs to the Parisian Zoo was delayed 'to confirm the health of the mother and cubs'. Let's welcome 7-week-old brothers Wei, or "big and strong," and Xun, meaning "fast" or "quick."

<![CDATA[Kitty Korner]]> Stressed out? At Tokyo's new cat cafés, for about $8 an hour, you can hang out in the company of kittehs! Purr-fect for those who can't have a cat in their apartment or just need some (creature) comforting. Sip tea, buy some pillows, stickers or jewelry (that's how the café makes its money) as 19 felines on "staff" prowl about. Calico, the café seen here, has proven so popular that reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays. Hopefully the interview process selects only the most friendly lap kitties; our family cat Spooky (RIP!) was of the bloodthirsty scratch-first-ask-questions-later variety that would surely be bad for business. <![CDATA[ Worst person ever alert! David Wrigley,...]]> Worst person ever alert! David Wrigley, a 24-year-old Long Island construction worker, had just moved in with his girlfriend, Sara Sabol and her cats Madeline and Jinx. Wrigley claims the cats disliked him, so he crushed them with a bed and then proceeded to grab, squeeze and tug the cats' injured bodies. All of Madeline's ribs were broken and she died. Jinx has 13 broken ribs and is recovering. [Gothamist]

<![CDATA[Bad Kitty!]]> According to the New York Daily News, President Teddy Roosevelt's novelist granddaughter, Theodora Keogh, died recently in North Carolina at the age of 88. Her obituary in a UK paper notes: "After [her second husband, a tugboat captain] left her, she lived at [New York's] Chelsea Hotel, where she kept a margay (a South American wild cat) for company. One night, after she had drunk too much and fallen asleep, it chewed off one of her ears." You gotta love the crazy cat ladies! [Gatecrasher]
