I'm pretty sure that all of my shoes from Target are vegan, by which I mean ridiculously fake. My vegetarian friends have been shopping there for years.
@DangerMouse: By which I mean that you can find cheap vegan (or at least non-leather, but I assume they are not adding dairy to my pleather or something) shoes out there that don't have fancy vegan labels. In fact, you're more likely to find it for cheap shoes than $150 shoes.
@DangerMouse: Finding trendy vegan shoes on a budget has never been a problem for me. Same goes for the "leather" handbags and jackets I buy from forever 21.
@BrutallyHonestBabes (aka Mrs. Sarah.of.a.Lesser.Hobbit): Holy cow, that's one of my dad's favorite pics. He always trots it out when I come to visit and i bring someone new with me that hasn't seen it. they stand there a little uncomfortably, politely laughing while he guffaws like it's the funniest damn thing ever.
I love Biography Books and Marc Jacobs taking that space over sucks. Why does he need a sixth store on that block? What is he selling that you can't already get in one of the five other stores? I am really starting to hate that company.
THAT'S what's going into Biography Books!?!?! @nothing_new: I'm with you. It's been clear that Biography Books is getting ready to leave. And I love Marc Jacobs stuff (if only I could afford more of it), but I don't understand. Local book stores are important. Ugh.
@nothing_new: SERIOUSLY. I really hope BB relocates elsewhere in the city; I'm also curious to see exactly how much of Bleecker the man intends to occupy!
@DangerMouse: I mean, if you could have those coming out of your hips, boobs, shoulders, and hopefully there are some rectagonal but covers back there, you'd be set for battle.
I think Eva as a model would be more groundbreaking than Eva as an actress- and let's be honest, she was never a real actress. The fact that she is 30+ and Latina is exciting all by itself since the modeling world is extremely ageist and not favorable to non-white models.
Since Eva's in her 30s, I don't think modeling is her career future. In fact, didn't she model well before she started acting? Anyway, I love her, and she can act, and she's gorgeous, but I doubt that if she hadn't been an actress and celebrity first that the ageist fashion industry would want anything to do with her.
But wow, that "transparent acting career" thing bugged me. Am I the only one?
@annebreal: I don't remember Eva ever calling herself an Oscar caliber actress. I think she knows her range and takes parts accordingly. Not everyone is Meryl Streep and not every part calls for it. It didn't bug, I just took it as the poster's personal opinion.
