    Someone's going to kill me for this, but:


    I think Perez Hilton is a scumbag, an idiot, an egomaniac and a jerk. And I think that is good for gay Americans, because people need to realize that being gay doesn't change whether or not you are a good or bad person. It just changes who you love, who you are attracted to. The sooner we get over this "Every gay man is my gay best friend!" thing we have going on culturally, the sooner we can truly accept gay people as normal, full members of society, as normal people, as normal Americans, who are sometimes TOTAL JACKASSES WHO NEED TO SHUT UP AND GO AWAY.

    @stoprobbers: Interesting- I had never thought of it this way. I, for one, like the way you think!


    I understand where he's coming from in that it is good for young gay people to see other gays prominently featured in the media- regardless of how personally repulsive I find him. Where I have a problem is that he reinforces a stereotype prevalent in the straight community of the "bitchy queen". I hate the idea that this is how some people see all gay men.

    Ok, next time I visit my parents, I'm going to Chrissie Hynde's restaurant. I've walked by the damn thing before-- you'd never know it was celebrity owned if um, you didn't know, so it actually does look like it might be yummy.


    I'm thinking the people she's talking about who don't understand vegetarians must be from Akron and the surrounding area, though. That part of Ohio is very big on the whole meat and potatoes thing.
