    Jennifer Aniston should totally go out with Aaron Sorkin. He has that on again off again thing with Kristen Chenoweth, and that's kind of cute, but also, isn't she a right wing Christian who went on the 700 Club? Did I make that up? At the same time I've always felt Jennifer had a sort of Republican side -- it's my belief based on no evidence that her quiet support of Bush during the 2004 elections contributed to her breakup with Brad Pitt. Anyway I've always thought Jennifer should just marry some rich, hot businessman who will worship her and Aaron is also brilliant.


    Somebody shoot me. Please.

    @J.D.Regent: She was raised Southern Baptist and performed in front of the Southern Baptist Convention (!!!!!!!!) at age 12, and yes she appeared on the 700 club. This according to the wiki.


    And looking at Sorkin's wiki page, he even looks a little golden the way Brad is which fits in with Jennifer's golden aesthetic. I think this is my favorite celeb fantasy world matchmake of the-- week? month? Month.

    This is going to be a little bit offtopic, but I'm going to try to relate it to the point at hand, so here goes:


    Why do things like this sell? Like, why DO people care so avidly what size Kim K. wears? Is it because she's famous and conventionally attractive and has made multiple attempts to make herself relatable? Probably. But I always get a little leery of mags that claim to know the height/weight of slebs. The stuff is sensational, because people want to KNOW this stuff, they want to compare themselves to little bitty celebs. And it keeps people coming back, because they want to know more.


    I know Kim Kardashian looks very striking and people would like to know if the numbers she claims to wear are actually the numbers that would fit on her body, but I always worry a little when the conversation veers to "Well, I'm (x) tall and wear (y) jean size, so I think K. Kar is totally lying" or "I'm (A) tall and have (Z) measurements, so it's totes possible."


    I know no one means anything by it and I think everyone's been constructive so far, but for some of us who DO have curves and cellulite and DO wear sizes that are...well, astronomically greater than 4, it causes some dissonance. The tabloids are basically saying "Look! You can have a hot bod even if you have curves and cellulite...but only if you're still ultra-ultra-tiny!" I know K. Kar does look quite lovely, but it just makes me uncomfortable when the weights/heights come out.


    I'm not sure if I articulated this very well. That's all. Carry on.

    @tscheese: No, I'm with you. She could be a size 2, she could not. But the ideal is still going to be tiny, regardless. I'm not going to make myself feel any better by wondering if she is or isn't. People carry their weight differently, and just because someone who is x-feet tall is size 6, doesn't mean someone who is a size 12 is a giant elephant who should go to live at an elephant sanctuary where she'll fit in.

    @tscheese: I think it makes everyone uncomfortable when the weights/heights came out, and I think PSoul brought it up yesterday in RR and hortense responded a little, basically saying that it's okay to talk about bodies but not to be cruel. I think, though, that flaunting height/weight/dress size "numbers" on the internet is a pretty gross exercise of thin privilege if I ever heard it and since we are all represented by cartoons and portraits of other people &c. that well, it might fall a little under the cruel umbrella, even if unwittingly so.


    We all wind up comparing ourselves to one another even if we don't want to, even if we haven't had scales in our apartments since 1998 or whenever, so maybe if the comparison was limited to celebrities with numbers offered up by tab writers and not fellow commenters self-reporting these height/weight/dress size figures it could be marginally better.
