My boss made a pretty interesting point the other day. If this was only intended for Michael's personal use...why was it shot on HD cameras?
Yes, I realize he can afford it so why not? But the production value has struck me as strange since I saw the trailer. Hmmm...Now excuse me while I put on my tin-foil hat. #thisisit
Maybe it will shut up all the people still claiming that he was practically keeling over already and therefore Dr. Murray just gave him the final push. He may have been on drugs, but that doesn't mean that the doctor administering these drugs was at all in the right. In fact, what Murray did was illegal and fucked even if MJ was on his hands and knees begging for it. As a medical professional, he knew better.
But people believe what they want to believe. I choose to remember Michael in a positive light as an outstanding performer and artist, as well as someone who really tried to make a difference in the world but was thwarted by his fame and weirdness. #thisisit
@heykoukla: Definitely. That song isn't very good, and the choreography is confusing. If the song is about being oppressed by authorities, why present Michael as a quasi-dictator? #thisisit
"But the coolest moments show Jackson unadorned and unplugged. He sings "Human Nature" nearly a capella, blending vocal virtuosity and a choirboy's clarity; there's nothing false about his falsetto."
I may buy a ticket just for that song.
I was listing to the Best of the Jackson 5 yesterday. I'll be listening to their and his music for a long time.
I can't say the same for most of the pop stuff out now. Hell, most songs from last year sound dated. #thisisit
Oh, Kelly, I feel your pain. In real life, I'm pretty and about a size 8, but on film, my God. I don't know what it is, but stick a flash in front of me, and I suddenly loose all the bones in my face and everything but my nose dissolves into a flat custard. On the bright side, "Facebook Friends" who see me mostly in photos are always like, "You've lost so much weight, you look wonderful!" whenever I actually see them, so that's kinda nice.
@Triphena: i'm the same. my pale, pale skin and "delicate" facial features combined with my round face and size 8 frame mean i look like a bloated marshmellow in all photos & videos. my own mother has even admtted (in a moment of champagne induced honesty) that i'm just not photogenic!
When I found out last night, I had the urge to call my mom. She loves the Swayze. But I held off, as she was probably asleep.
When I was younger, Ghost freaked me out (it was the demons combined with my fire and brimstone church, I guess). Now I think I would just watch it and cry.
So Sean Penn is fully enveloped in his mid-life crisis, I see. And while his latest paramour is much younger and undeniably gorgeous, I was still surprised to see that Ms. White is, well, in fact, black.
@Sophie needs to study...damn: why does dating another woman necessarily indicate a midlife crisis? i havnt really heard of him doing anything else out of the ordinary? he and his wife tried to work it out, it didnt happen, they move on. where the mid life crisis?
(i have read stuff about his cheating, though, but that reeks more of douchebaggery than midlife crisis to me, really)
I can't help it -- as douchetastic as Jon Gosselin's comment about Diddy is, he's still making it about a guy who had a good chunk of Twitter laughing at him last week because "Supernatural" fandom made #luciferisrissing a trending topic in celebration of the season premiere, and Diddy thought Satanists were invading and organized his followers to take it down by tweeti ng #GODISALIVE or whatever. Idiot.
Hello, can a Stateside Jezzie please explain to me why more celebs are going OFF on Mr. West for his actions at the VMAs vs. Chris Brown's actions for beating the crap out of his girlfriend?
Did Ms. Swift get punched or something? Did she have to miss an awards show and be taken to the hospital? Some of the celebs are very, very angry so Kanye must have done something truly horrific to explain this backlash, right?

@nyc-caribbean-ragazza: I will like some insight myself. It really is quite ridiculous. In the last 24+ hours, I have gone from "Poor Taylor" to rolling my eyes anytime the story is mentioned. The hysterics are ridiculous. If Pink is concerned about the feelings of all young women where is her tweet on Chris Brown? Absolutely insane.
@nyc-caribbean-ragazza: Complicated very-possibly-relevant issues of race aside, as that's a long discussion, I do believe part of it has to with the fact that people feel they can argue Rihanna 'deserved it', 'probably brought it on herself', and/or 'she was an idiot to be with him in the first place'. (All of which disgusts me) Kanye is also an established public jerkface, making him an easier target - Chris Brown was still wrapped in his good guy image.
Taylor is seen as pure victim here(and a beautiful, young, blond one at that - can't ignore it completely, it seems!), Katy Perry's squished kitten, and not fair game for a big possibly drunk hip-hop star to confront, and humiliate, in public. I think the continued outcry is getting really stupid.
'Big', of course, in muscle mass. Because I think she's taller than him.
@nyc-caribbean-ragazza: To be honest, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that this happened on television and can be replayed, watched and analyzed as needed. Certainly, the attack on Riri was far worse and completely inexcusable, but it did not happen in public. I'd say that it was because it took a long time to put Chris Brown on trial and innocent until proven guilty, but no one follows that anymore. Sound byte generation, y'all.
@o-line: I agree that this is what it mostly was. I also think that a lot of the celebs weighing in were present at the VMAs. They feel like they were there, they were part of the moment, so it's theirs to comment on. That, and some of those quotes, like the one from Diddy, make me think some people don't like Kanye as a person and feel like this is an opportunity to say so. I think other artists are getting sick of how full of himself he is.
@nyc-caribbean-ragazza: Aside from it being a totally wrong venue, the Katrina thing was something that needed to be said, so I'm willing to let that one go. This was just mean.

@Gumbina80: Yeah, the whole idea is really ropey - as it was back when the MJ statue in military attire was floated down the Thames. #thisisit

Kanye West did something stupid, and I think it's time to move on, but I so love this picture anyway.

thanks everyone.
That is true about Chris having a very clean image whereas Kanye has done this before (although part of me did love his Katrina telethon outburst).
The amount of press is incredible. I didn't realize anyone was still watching the VMAs. MTV must be thrilled.
