@TheExperience: Um, what? Most recent adoption? She's adopted one child. Jesus Luz is her love interest.
Generally I think the difference is when bloggers make fun of Madonna, it's not in response to her walking up and saying, "Congratulations on your recent achievement!" Add in his abusive history with her, and all this Sean Penn is so kewl harharhar! stuff is pretty nauseating.
If I won an Oscar, I wouldn't put it down, either. I'd sleep with it and shower with it and take it to my meetings and dress it up for church and sing to it at night.
Okay, the thing is: When I read the Kenan thing when Hortense posted it, my response was "oh man, what an ignoramus, shithead, etc."
BUT: It occurs to me, what if Kenan isn't giving Chris Brown a pass, but is saying that SNL would give him a pass for the ratings. So he's blasting NBC for the very thing that we've been blasting him for.
I would think Kathy Griffin would be depressed after writing her memoir realizing she has spent her life being a rude unfunny snarky bitch. Karma will get you Kath.
@SweetSerengeti: She cracks me up, so unfunny is clearly subjective. And considering that snarky bitch could be a tag added to 90% of the posters' names around here, I'm not sure what's got you so pissed?
Oh well so it's only me who thinks that there's something of a double standard going on here with Madonna and Sean. Not only do I not think it's particularly clever but seriously I just can't get past the fact that these two have a history of domestic violence and that if it had been anyone other than Madonna people wouldn't have been all 'woo Sean' over it. I loathe Madonna far more than almost any celebrity I know but I don't actually think that excuses Penn's snide and rather sad comment. A comment which I think is made worse by their history.
I snorted coke (the liquiid kind) through my nose when I read Sean Penn's snark. It's funny. But only when she gets to say it back when she sees him with LiLo.
@badmutha: They filed for divorce last year but didn't go through with it. They were together at the Oscars, so I assume they're still married and no longer separated.
@BlondeGoddess: I am facebook friends with both Lindsay and Samantha (don't ask.. long story) and Lindsay and I have a mutual friend. As far as I know from my 10 or so degrees of separation, Lindsay is still very much with Samantha, and was never very much into boys to begin with. She just really loved Milk and got herself invited to a few pre-Oscar parties for the film, thus was spotted in the proximity of Sean Penn. And as you know, to gossip columnists, Lindsay being in the same room as a man = she's totally doing him. Despite being in a happy relationship and (maybe not openly, but pretty much) gay
Zohan was literally the worst movie I have ever seen. And believe me, I've seen some shitbombs of movies. I actually paid to see Death Race if that puts it in perspective for you.
I've read a lot of 'hated the Oscars' stories, but personally, I enjoyed this one more than most in recent years. I did miss Jon Stewart's opening, though, but I definitely am not going to complain about Hugh Jackman!!
@MJ: I was fairly amused, but it dragged on too fucking long, as usual. By 11:45 I was going FOR THE LOVE OF PETE PLEASE JUST PRESENT BEST ACTRESS SO I CAN TURN OFF MY TV.
@MJ: I really liked the Oscars this year- I however was watching it off the DVR, so I could fast forward through some of the tech stuff. Also better: watching it in the early evening on the West Coast instead of late at night on the East.

But Jesus Luz? She does have another kid? I thought David was her most recent adoption.

I'm not exactly sure this was appropriated.
You don't have to like her, but calling her an "unfunny snarky bitch" seemed to be a bit much, actually a lot much.

One of my FB friends changed her status to "Shut up and act, Sean Penn, and stop pontificating."
Because we all know celebrities aren't allowed to have opinions!
